So, what should be done with the Punisher in the Ultimate Universe?
I think he was already in Ultimate Marvel Team-Up.

I think he is a character best left out of the Ultimate Universe. I don't think you could change him enough to merit making an Ultimate version.

I don't think anything in Team-Up should be considered in continuity, imo.

I know that, I mean what should be done with him the future.

He's been portrayed really crappy in my opinion. He's kinda been treated as if he was a random 90s shoot em up uber violent character.
In Team Up he was seen in prison, with really bad art. In an issue of Ultimate Spider-Man, he was some crazy nut stopping a bank robbery.
I know ultimate is supposed to be different from original or at least thats the original idea about it, but if anything, the Punisher should be exactly the same as his 616 counterpart. Maybe a little bit more realistic, because if you think about it, the Punisher is the most realistic character in the marvel universes, and thats what most Ultimate is about isnt it?

Well to be different when he gets ready to punish someone he can send them to the corner for thirty minutes or an hour, really depends on how bad they are.

If you took general psychology, you would learn that isn't Punishment, just the removal of Reinforcement, so that wouldn't really hit him as the punisher.
Now, if he bent crimanals over and gave them a good spanking, that would be punishment.

The punisher being changed for the Ult U. sounds like something not needed. I say he should at least be a different origin of some kind. But maybe he can have a technology state of mind that lets him create his own weapons...no wait thats Batman...

I think that the Punisher can be ultimatize it some way. Marvel could make him a mercenary, S.H.E.I.L.D agent, hitman, or something simliar. If Punisher going to stick in UU marvel needs to make him as different from 616 Punisher as much as possible.

What they need to do is keep Bendis from writing him as a joke character.

You mean like in the 3 issues where Bendis introduced/reimagined him in Ultimate Team-Up? Yeah, HUGE joke there.

I was refering to his horrible appearance when he tried to kill Boomerang during a bank heist.

Ultimate Punisher should be a dominatrix. That would be cool.

All they changed about Ultimate Frank is that he was a cop instead of a Veitnam Veteran eh?

And that his family was killed by corrupt cops.

I LIKED Ultimate Punisher as-is. I think he was GREAT in Marvel Team-Up.
Now here's ANOTHER question: Has Ultimate Team-Up already caused continuity screw ups? Are Ultimate Fantastic Four and Ultimate Iron Man really different from their counterparts Ultimate Team-Up?

The Iron Man appearance fits in. The FF one is retconned until someone figures out how to fit it in.

I do not think that Punisher should be an Ultimate title. I just don't like the story line of his family being killed by corrupt cops as much as the original story line.

Me neither, what is he supposed to be, a one man Internal Affairs guy?

They've said in letters pages and stuff that about 95% of UMTU is considered in continuity, with the sole exception of the Fantastic Four story. I don't remember the specifics of the Iron Man story, though... wasn't Doom tangentially involved? Or was it just Latveria, with no actual mention of Doom?

actually i really enjoyed the Ultimate Punisher story in Ultimate Team-Up. they treated Frank almost as a force of nature and the tweak to his origin certainly didn't take anything away from it.
not sure exactly what it added either, other than maybe to explain why he felt the need to do this himself as opposed to letting the police take care of things . . .

i like the idea of him being a sheild agent, then his family gets killed in the same way as in 616 and when he wants to go after the criminals sheild say "that's not our department" after seeing the corrupt police do nothing for months frank goes rogue and becomes the punisher.

I have heard this, I hope thats right cuz I am soooo looking forward to it.
Maybe they should change his origin slightly but they shouldnt change him too much, I think 616 frank would fit in fine with the Ultimate Universe.

That is correct.
Millar had said it in multiple interviews.

Ultimates Black should be good with Yu drawing the Punisher. Here's a couple of Punisher pieces he did, looks like he's fond of the Marv look for Frank with plasters on his face.

Ultimate Bullseye and Ultimate Hawkeye in the same book? How do you tell them apart?
Hawkeye is the one more likely to shoot a team member in the face because he didn't the way he was looking at him.

Ok what if in the Ultimate Universe Franks family died because of collateral damage done in a big superhero fight and now he wants to "punish" all the "good guys" for being irresponsible?

My fault. Those are just previous Yu Punisher pics not from UCA. I posted 'em because Ultimate Punisher might have a load a plasters on his face cos Yu was drawing.

Unless Millar ignores it, he already got an origin in the issues of ULTIMATE MARVEL TEAM-UP he was in. Family killed by corrupt cops.
