Here is my latest Marvel pic, as promised to a twilight.

Gravity, Greg Willis, Marvel's newest solo hero, is a new Freshman at NYU. Ever since the fateful day when an accident involving some kind of vortex granted him control over gravitons. Greg Willis uses his gravitonic field to help fight crime and protect the innocent.

Here is Gravity:

I hope you enjoy him.

Heh, except for the chin, it looks basically like he's drawn in the comic. Style transfers over well.

Just out of curiosity, do you have any examples of your work that's a little more action oriented?

Thanks, I too thought Norton's style blended well with the style I've been working in these last couple of years.

Nothing completed in inks and colors in this style, only pencils really, with the exception of some Captain America art that I've given to students. As I move my career towards art and away from teaching for the forseeable future, I will be able to share more of my varied work, and as I enjoy Marvel characters a great deal, I will be posting action shots, pin-ups and sequential art in addition to these model sheets.

That's awesome!!!

Mike

Thanks! That means a lot coming from you, I've enjoyed your work for a long time. (Especially the Argobots stuff, I loved that like no body's business, of course, from my last name you could guess I'd be in to Oni, I'm James' brother :) ) Any more Gravity stuff you will be involved in by any chance?

Aside from the fact that his costume seems a bit baggy, that is an absolutely fantastic work, sir. Any chance of seeing a pic of Black Death/Greenwich Guardian?

Not so much on the covers, but Gravity's costume is actually fairly baggy in the interiors. He looks like he's wearing snow pants or something.

Also, Jared tends to go that direction with most of his work, going for that Ross-esque realism with the costumes, I think.

not directly, but inspired by Steven Gordon's style (Mr. Gordon was the sole character designer for the series, as he is for the Ultimate Avengers animated movie as well). I like to add details like seams, and folds, and what not to an animated style, taking a cue from Mr. Gordon. But my drawings are originals, and are drawn in a style similar to his own.

Oh! Burn :) Thanks for the kind word, I'll definitely say hey to James. I'll be drawing pics of Juston and his pet Sentinel as well, which I'm sure to post when I get them done, but I do have the rest of the Runaways and Winter Soldier on my dockett already.
