I read it last night, and I was kind of let down. I read Part one of the Vegas arc and I loved it. The character Vegas really impressed me. He has an awesome power (basically steals luck from the people around him), so needless to say I was pumped for this issue. I started out strong. Vegas survives the flaming building collapsing because I'm assuming he stole the luck from Tombstone who didn't make it out as clean as Vegas did.

Vegas knows he must continue after Padre.

Vegas head for a diner where he tests out his power. He calls a coin to land on "edge." Well it does but it also causes a coffee pot to shatter at the same time and the waitress says, "Now, if that don't beat all! Fourteen years this job. I never broke a pot once!" This is where we get the first clue as to what Vegas' powers actually do.

We get to see what exactly happened with his sister through a flashback. How the renegades "kill" his sister.

When Vegas comes to he finds cold steel against the back of his head. Padre has a revolver pointed at the back of Vegas' head itching to pull the trigger. Fearing something bad would happen if Vegas' used his power on the gun he simply asks if he could be burned, and Padre being the relegious type he says "amen to that brother."

Vegas is thrown into a squad car where Padre lights the car on fire while eh's still driving (such a cool moment). As this is happening Padre decides to let Vegas in on a little secret, his sister is actually alive. Using a little magic Vegas finds the keys to the handcuffs under the seat... but then we see the waitress from the diner turning the alarm off on her car and at that time it blows up. So I guess that means it doesn't really have to be anyone around him... I'm not sure how far away the car got.

Vegas leaps out of the car and the flaming cop car continues down the road but not long before doing a 180 and coming back for Vegas. Vegas decides to use skill rather than luck and leaps over the car. Padre slams into an oil pump... whether he meets his demise we don't know. He's immune to fire but the crash could have killed him.

Vegas goes back to the hospital to visit Meg before he goes on his journey to find his sister. Coming out of her room he finds Tombstone standing outside perfectly fine. Not a scratch, where as before he "died." Tombstone knows of his sister and hires Vegas to hunt down the renegades.

Then it just ends with Vegas on a motorcycle with self commentary about getting his sister, and that's where it ends.

It feels so incomplete now. You learn that his sister is actually alive, which is crucial, the renegades are the ones who have her, Padre is the only dead, this book could have gone for at least 4 a part series. I really wish we could get more from the Vegas character.

As I see it, the ending could be a starting point for a mini-series or a ongoing series. I agree with you. I am really interested in the Vegas character and it should have had more than two issues. The Parde didn't die. Tombstone said that he found him in the wreckage and took him to the hospital where Vegas went to.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Tombstone saying that.

I'd absolutely love a Vegas series. I think his power is awesome and some really interesting ideas could be played off of that.

Didn't Domino have luck powers? I like that he doesn't know how to use his powers or know when it's the best time to use them. That alone makes him different than any other luck powered character. I really want this story to be resolved. If Marvel can give a crappy character like Arana her own book than Vegas deserves one.
