After seeing "Harold & Kumar", I was wondering, is White Castle's food really all it's cracked up to be? If any of you have eaten there, please respond.

I thought that was Coop's squishy drink?

It is only tasty , when you've had a few too many beers/bong hits. Sober, it is about as appetizing as leather.

In response to your question, not anymore. In '97 I was really drunk one night on Goldschlagger(sp) and Vodka/Grape Juice. We went to White Castle after drinking and I ate two many of the burgers. Needless to say, I smell them now, I get sick to my stomach. Also, the same with anything that tastes like big red cewing gum and red hots, or if I even smell Goldschlagger.

I think they're awful. Steamed meat on limp bread.

"Steamed"? That sounds pretty nasty.

I'm pretty sure it was a steamed sandwich. The bread was actually damp.

All White Castle burgers are steamed.

Personally, I enjoy their burgers, especially when hot. I do not, however, like the "home version", which is frozen.

I rarely eat fast food, literally months ago since my last stop- but if I do, it's usually 1 White Castle cheeseburger.

Why? They're cheap and come in those cute little boxes. Mostly because of the former though.

Just 1? What a wussy.

I love White Castle, though I have none anywhere near me so I live with McDonalds Double Cheeseburgers.

The cook keeps them warm in his armpit is all.

White Castle is alright, no better or wourse then a lot of other fast-food places I've been to, though a lot of my friends love it. But, if you want TRUE greasy fast-food melts in your mouth paradise, go to Checkers.

I've never had it. When I was young and lived up north, White Castle had just moved in and was all the rage. My mom thought it was horrible so we never ever ate there. Actually, come to think of it, all fast food was 'horrid' so I never had happy meals or anything else really till I was a preteen. Oy, I had such a terrible childhood. :p

I tried Krystal recently though. I honestly thought it was pretty bad. Steamed burgers are just...I dunno...not very flavorful or appealing. Soggy bread with a grey burger covered in miniscule onions. Yum...?

I guess you have to have the munchies or be on a bender to appreciate these things.

Taste? What does taste have to do with it? The whole point is the GORGING! :)

Actually, I'm a heteric. I put catsup and mustard on mine. Nasty things are too dry otherwise, no matter how much they try to steam moisture back in.

And, yes, Slap, they do call them "sliders" for a reason. ;)

Had some...urgency inflicted on me by some just the other night.

However, McDonalds or Burger King isn't open at four in the morning when you're finished clubbing and cruising empty streets so you can put something, anything, in your stomach. Like hot dogs at comic conventions, White Castle burgers taste alright when you're hungry.

I had Krystal burgers and they were disgusting. I was drunk out of my mind but I still didn't think they tasted well. I still want to try Whit Castle though.

They are indeed surprisingly tasty. It's very odd, considering they are just tiny, soggy, improperly cooked hamburgers.

Also the greatest laxative known to man. Taco Bell's got nothin' on 'em. Plan on staying in for the weekend after a Friday night out that ends at White Castle.

White Castles are like a drug. If you enter 1 about midnite, all the patrons will most likely be on drugs. But that aside, They are terrible, terrible little steamed rats. But when you're 1/2 in the bag there's nothing on the face of the planet that tastes better. And here's the rub. After eating WC, they get in your blood. Even if you try & break the habbit, move away or whatever. You'll find yourself going back home & getting to a WC. It may be a month, a year, or more, but it happens. They're pure evil I tell you.

I forgot about that part. They also seem to somehow double their mass after consumption.

NO! I should think about that next time...

Seriously, of course I heat them. They don't taste anything like their restaurant counterparts.

I've never had White Castle and I've quit all big fast food chains since "Super Size Me" so I guess I'll never know the horror of steamed meat.

I can't believe you guys banned Jesus. He could make one White Castle burger feed us all!

I've honestly never come across a White Castle or heard anyone discusss it before this tread. I thought it was a fictional chain made up for the Harol and Kumar movie, to tell the truth. What regions does the franchise usually pop up in? Wherever I've lived, I've only seen McDonalds, Burger King, and Wendy's...

The only places I've seen White Castle are in the Bronx and Queens. I'm sure they're all over New York City. You'll probably only see them in major urban areas. I've never seen one in the suburbs.

they used to be huge in long island suburbs, but alas, they are mostly in the poorer sections of suburbia, LI now.

A long time ago, there used to be one in Egg Harbor Township or Pleasantville or somewhere just outside of Atlantic City, but it's been long closed.

Possibly because their burgers tasted awful.

Everything you always wanted to know about White Castle (but were afraid to ask for fear of the trots).
