I just got Supreme Power - High Command and in issue 18 they are showing all these potential super-powered types. There's Arcanna, some janitor (probably Shape), Master Menace, someone who appears to be Nuke, Tom Thumb and Edith Freiberg.

The name means nothing to me, but it seems like it means something. I'm guessing she's from the original Squadron Supreme cast of characters and the possibilities I've come up with are - Mink, Inertia, Lamprey (the can change sex here), Lady Lark (wrong name though - she's Linda something), and Moonglow. I'm assuming it's not someone like Quagmire, Thermite or the Black Archer because there's no arrows, gunk, or ice around.
So anybody know who she's supposed to be?
I'm hoping for an answer based on knowledge of Squadron Supreme stuff from Supreme Power 18 and back so if it's revealed in the new stuff please put a spoiler alert in.

Thanks,
Bil

I also did not know at first, as far as I can remember in the orignal maxi-series her real name is never mentioned.

Apparently Edith Freiberg is Inertia.

But I have to add, that I would love to see a new version of Lamprey.

Thanks Fury, I knew someone here had to have an answer.

Inertial was my best guess as the destruction seemed more likely from her powers than anyone else's.

I'm hoping for new versions of all sorts of characters.

In the Hyperion mini series the govt sent Arrcana, Shape, Nuke, and Menece after Hype. In the end of the second issue Arrcanna's power twist things and we see an alternate/future version of the SS. In it there are a lot of members shown to be working with Hype including Inertia, Blue Eagle, Golden/Dark Archer, Haywire, and others. Since it is being written by JMS himself these just might end up being what the new versions of these characters might be in the Supreme Power univerese. Worth looking at it you are looking for revamped versions.

Thanks for the input Zero, I'll be picking up Hyperion whenever the trade comes out. Got a limited income for comics so I just by the most durable form. But I'm looking forward to seeing the new Squadron in action (again  )

Edith Freiberg was definitely Inertia's civilian name in Gruenwald's Squadron Supreme series.

Just out of curiousity how do you know? Where did it say so?
Thanks in advance.

The original Squadron Supreme series revealed that as Inertia's name; also confirmed by the 2nd OHOTMU series, under the Squadron entries.
