Quick question: Have any of the Fantastic Four ever been members of the Avengers?

I know SHE-HULK joined the F4 for a while, but what about in the other direction? Wasn't Thing a reserve member for a while back in the late 1980s, maybe?

Where's Kurt Busiek when I need him?

Nevermind -- I suppose this is all the info I need:

That's a cool site. Just curious - what prompted this question? And did you see this (new info to me):

1950s members

What If? vol 1, #9 (June 1978) revealed that a prototype group of Avengers had been formed in 1958 to rescue abducted President Eisenhower from supervillain Yellow Claw. They disbanded upon completing their mission but the issue discussed what would have happened had they continued their activities. They were revealed in Avengers Forever to be a parallel world version of the Avengers.

Their members included:

* Venus
* Marvel Boy
* Gorilla-Man
* Human Robot
* 3-D Man
* Jimmy Woo of the FBI (government liaison)
* Namora (associate member)
* Jann of the Jungle (associate member)

I've really gotta re-read AVENGERS FOREVER...

Yeah, we're suddenly back into We Need Kurt mode there. I think he may be the only person alive who could have named that lineup off the top of his head.

As for what prompted the question: Some side work. I'm always keeping myself far too busy. ;-)

It's worth noting that a trade I see intermittently on eBay (and will probably never buy) seems to be set when the Fantastic Four are missing or otherwise out of action and a new Fantastic Four is formed which consists of four other superheroes. Offhand I think it might have been Spider-Man, Ghost Rider, Wolverine and The Hulk.

Yup, that was the Walter Simonson/Art Adams three-parter. Beautiful art, fun story. I'm sure it gets big bucks.

You know, I have that complete F4 on DVD thing. I should go back and reread that to see if it was as fun as I remember it.
