A series about a sucessor to this litany of Spiderman villains would be interesting. This should be a Negroid woman instaed of a Caucasiod woman or man.I say Negroid because the idea of such a character being a female of African ancestry fascinates me,and because she doesnt necessarily have to an African-AMERICAN{although the West Indies<Canada,Central America and South America can be counted as different types of African Americans}in origin.
She should be somewhat Catwoman-like in terms of political oulook, public reputaion among neighborhoods, authorities and Marvel Superheroes{whom she regards as alliers or friends}.Spiderman like powers and abilities should be included,as should a playful ,bantering relation ship with theWall Crawler, who gradully learns she is no like the previous Tarantulas.
Also,All ethnic stereotypes should be avoided at all costs, including ones insinuating that Hip Hop subculture predominates Afro-American life.
This Tarantula should have the classic red and blue costume, except with s sassy scarf and Domino mask, both matching blue.
If you also'd like to see a Tarantula Comic, what would you like it to be like?

DC currently has a character using the name. She's not exactly beloved by the fanbase, but she's still hanging around the Bat-titles.

So . . . I don't see Marvel going that route.

...then,such a magazine might have to be called Red Tarantula to avoid copyright bickering.

the subjects of two other posts,BADgirls, inc and Waterwitch II would be ideal gust stars. As would characters of the Captain America and Spider-man mythoses.

I would definitely like to see a new Tarantula. Spidey needs to fight more of his rogue's gallery than he has been recently. The same goes for Batman. :(

I liked Tarantuala and his "pointy chews". Of course he's dead now. He was a right scumbag too. As for carrying his own comic...well, a good writer could make it work. Maybe team him up with Deadpool.

Deadpool would make an interesting partner for a revamped Red Tarantula, and as I envision a woman(see opening post)inheriting this position akin to Captain America,he would make an interesting lover as well.Perhaps a rivel with Spider-man for her love.An imaginative Marvel writer could very easily make any of these ideas work, including modern male and female Tarantulas. Each (the male being the corrent Black Tarantula)could compete for the title, with Spider-man,Deadpool,Cable and I rooting for the female.

Still sounds like DC's version to me. Especially if you try to hook her up with Spider-Man.

All the better to attract fans of that version with, especially with cameo appearances of other Marvel characters, and connections with other Marvel storylines.Plus ,a villainous reptation in our country, and a heroic one in developing/undeveloped countries for purposes of contreversy and intrigue.

There are none. Unless you count Devin Grayson.

lol so true...

But whenever Devin wrote Batman (Gotham Knights, etc.), it was one of the coolest versions of the character I've ever seen. She only went downhill on Nightwing. DC should have her do more Batman stories.

Oh, I agree entirely. I have no idea what happened with Nightwing since she wrote Batman incredibly well. But that Nightwing run, and Tarantula in general, was just frustrating.
