[Sings] Hey there, Georgie Girl
And Robert, Perry, Emo and everyone else.
Have a round of free hugs and beers on the house.
Lord knows you'll need both..............

Um...hi? Someone mentioned lesbians and Virginia in the same post, so I had to pop in...
I'm Robin. ('Georgie' is from my roller derby days. Beer + Babes + Fishnets = Yes, please!) Let's see....I spent six years in the Air Force. Aircraft mechanic. I loved my job. I decided to get out (apparently, the military isn't big on gay folks? But, I digress...), and I came home to Roanoke, Va. That was three years ago. Since then, I've fallen in love, adopted two puppies (both of which are ginormous now....), and I've become a student. Again.
I'm really into music. I'm a regular on a few boards for some bands. Currently stoked for the new 30 Seconds to Mars CD. (Hopefully, it will be as far from the last one as possible!)
I'm super new to comics. I've only read Strangers in Paradise & Echo by Terry Moore. Got interested b/c of the new Batwoman. (All cliche, I know.... ) But, I'm incredibly excited to get hooked on others. (So....suggest away!)
Man I'm always late to these damn parties. =] Welcome Georgie Girl, I was in the Air Force for a total of 24 days  I know I'm a complete badass, anyway see ya in the lounge!

Howdy. I'm Graveyard Greg, and I write webcomics. I do write a lot of them, but the one I'm mostly proud of is Dungeons & Denizens (http://www.dungeond.com).
I'm a great fan of Fables, Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8, and a certain series that started off with Villains United and ultimately moved over into some kind of hidden sextet.
My existence in this forum is the fault of the King of Gryphons. Please direct all blame to him.
Be seeing you!

Welcome anyway; we won't hold Larry against you. . .
You'll have to do that yourself.

Hello all!
Been lurking for awhile and finally decided to register. I'm Jenn, 30 yrs old, manage a comic shop in Michigan. I pretty much read everything to keep up, but Usagi Yojimbo, Secret Six, Ex Machina, Fables, Spidey are among my top picks. Looking forward to chipping in on conversations now and then.

Hey everybody,
My name is Thomas. I've been lurking here for a little while but only registered a few days ago. I've read comics off and on since I was kid (mostly X-Men, Fantastic Four, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman). I'm really enjoying Gail's Wonder Woman and Secret Six.
I live in Chicago.
I guess that about sums it up.

Hello all!
I am new to the forum and to comic books in general! (More on that later)
I am 28 years old and African American. Fong is my nickname. It's a long story  Oh, and I'm male!
I'm an attorney (insert joke here) My interest in comics just began recently and right now Wonder Woman is the only book I follow. I am completely new to the comic world, but I've loved the character for quite some time. I was and still am a huge fan of Greek mythology and that was a major reason why Wonder Woman appealed to me. I also loved watching the re-runs of Wonder Woman as a kid. Wonder Woman just appeals to me on multiple levels both emotionally and intellectually. I like the kind of person she is and also her very interesting powerset and equipment. (Both fo which I am finding greatly underestimated on other forums.) And I really like saying the word Themyscira
There are other comic characters like the X-men that I follow in media other than comics. I have a wide variety of interests from Classical music (I am a flautist) to fantasy books/movies, video games and tennis. Go Rafa!
Oh, and I speak Japanese fluently. Nice to meet you all!

Hi Gang! I am a Southern Gent who spends wayyyy too much time in the artist and writers showcase. I have wandered from that pool on occasion but that is to checkout the Marvel and DC boards. A brand new friend suggested I come to this board to look at the pictures and threads of the last dragon con...so, after taking her advice I noticed there is more to cbr than just comics. So, I guess I am sorry that I have never checked out this thread before.

My name is Brooks. I am of the male variety, so please don't hold that against me. I am an audio engineer. Only language is English.
The books i love right now are:
Captain America, Green Lantern, Secret Six, Criminal, Powers, New Avengers, Booster Gold, Nova, Guardians of the Galaxy, Invincible Iron Man, The Sword, Buffy, Hellboy, BPRD just to name some that i really look forward to each month.
I feel like it's a great time to be interested in comics now, with so many great writers and artists out there. I've been posting off and on for the last year or so, just haven't introduced myself until now. OK that's it.

Greetings, allow me to introduce myself. I am the Vakanai. I've been on CBR for quite a while now. Three, maybe four years now perhaps. I started out in the Hellboy forum for a little while, until I moved on to mainly Rumbles. I got bored of it about a year ago, and recently have taken to the Batman and Spider-Man forums. FeminineMystique informed me I might like it here, so I'm afraid you have her to thank or curse for my presence. I like the color blue.
I fear I have spoken too much.

I think it would be appropriate to follow Vakanai's example and introduce myself. I have been posting on this message board for a couple of years as well, but unlike Vakanai, I was not invited, I let myself in.
I'm a 22 year old guy, (though mentally I am barely 15), live in the Netherlands, am of Indonesian/Caribbean descent, I like the original Transformers, work in a little bookbinding shop but am planning to return to school next year... aaaaaaaaand my current hobby is idling. My favourite comics are such Marvel titles as X-Men, Cable, the Avengers, and Iron Man. I am mostly a back issue buyer.
Schuimend Mormel isn't my real name; it's Dutch and roughly translates into 'mutt that's frothing at the mouth'. It's supposed to convey a sense of 'rabid-ness', and I thought it was a good idea at the time. I was a lot younger and a lot dumber back then.
I do not in fact have much to say or contribute, but I pop up from time to time. I usually prefer to just read the threads, fun way to spend the time.
Well, ta-da. >bows<

Hi, folks..
My name's Panji. I've been reading/collecting comics on and off for approximately 20 years now, ever since i was 11. I'm a full-blooded Indonesian who spent 2,5 years of my childhood in Melbourne, Australia (i'd love to talk about it in the Australia thread in some time, when i can) which basically provided me with my English.
I'm mostly a Marvel guy, growing up in what i would call my version of the "Marvel's Golden Age" in the 90's with Micheline/McFarlane's Amazing Spidey which was followed by Erik Larsen, Claremont/Lee's Uncanny X-Men, David/Keown's Incredible Hulk, etc, before all of these hot-shot artists formed Image.
However, DC totally wins it when it comes to their "mature titles" with their Vertigo line, as i've got a full run of Preacher, Sandman, Y: The Last Man, Fables and 100 Bullets. All excellent stuff.
I'm now mostly an eBay guy after realizing that it would be much cheaper to buy sets on eBay some months after the series ended rather than buying new comics at more than cover price here (because you have to add the "import tariffs", "customs tax" and so forth which would make a $3.99 comic into $4.50).
I now work for the Indonesia-Anticorruption and Commercial Court Enhancement Project, funded by USAID and was just blessed with a beautiful baby girl.

I am a long lapsed comic fan who is playing catch up on the last 15 years. Now that I am all grown up and can spend my money on whatever I want. I am also lonely for discussion on pretty much any of my hobbies as I don't know any other 30-year-old women (or men) who watch read or listen to what I do. At least not since moving to the Mid-West. I miss California espcially home (San Francisco), and spend entirely too much time on this site when I should be working. I don't speak any other language, unless you count how to tell people off in Spanish. Okay, that's me.

Hi, I am a 20 year Batman reader, with a few years in-between I had to catch up on. Other than Bat-titles, I am a big fan of Scalped, Fables, and Ex Machina. I loved the Invisibles, Scout, and I think Sweet Tooth is off to a good start. I have two young children that wear a lot of capes, and their mom is a great artist of many mediums and just finished up a tattoo apprenticeship. I live in Iowa (home of the best dirt in the world), work in a coffee/comic shop and play noisy punk blooze in the basement with crusty local guys. I avoid using money and do my best to end western civilization. I like to grow food, raise chickens, and take being a dad very seriously. I also like to read books without pictures.

Hi. My name is Wade and I'm from NJ. I have what seems like hundreds of hobbies that float into and out of my life as they suit whatever my current mood is. I like trying new things, no matter how odd they might seem. I've had days that started out with me getting suplexed at wrestling practice and ended with me making candy pacifiers out of life savers and jelly beans for a baby shower.
I mostly lurk online. I figure I've has access to the internet more often than not for the last 14 years or so. If I were to add up all of the comments I've left on message boards, blogs, news articles, etc in all those years I don't think I'd have even 200 comments.
Maybe this board will be different for me. Maybe not. Either way, I'd like to wish my fellow comic readers well.

I'm into bondage, S&M D&S and also M&S. They do delicious cakes.
I'm a proffesional dancer, frustrated novelist and would be actress.
And I am officially crazy so yes...watch out there.
we've spoken before, Claire, but I want to officially welcome you on board here at the asylum...
I'm sure you know what you're getting into here among all the other inmates that frequent this nuthouse...
have fun, sugar... it's gonna be one helluva hard 'n wild ride here... enjoy it 'n go for what you know...

Welcome Claire! Sadly, there is no Marks & Spencers out here in the U.S. So please bring cake!
But of course. Cake and bondage equipment. Kylie and I are going to get some rather strange looks when we get on that plane

Hey, I'm John. I'm a 26 year old male engineer. Mostly I've been reading Fables, Incredible Hercules, Guardians of the Galaxy, and other random stuff in trade. My favorite lately is Stuff of Legend, which I've been picking up on my phone. I just started reading comics again (sort of) recently. I'm recently married, so other than the occasional comics I pretty much work, play Warcraft, and do what my wife tells me....

Hi, everybody.
My name is Leslie Fontenelle, and I'm a Brasilian illustrator/graphic designer/storyboarder/will draw for food.
Comics I like? This may take a while. Off the top of my head I could mention Watchmen, Preacher, Power Girl, Cerebus, Marshal Law, Invincible, Walking Dead, Hitman, WE3, Sin City, Planetary, Global Frequency, Promethea, Little Annie Fanny, Li'l Abner, Powers, Secret Six, Blueberry, Krazy Kat, Little Nemo in Slumberland, Batman, Ambush Bug, Criminal, Sleeper, Incognito, Irredeemable Ant-Man, Hellblazer, Fables, and tons of stuff by authors like Harvey Kurtzman, Robert Crumb, Will Eisner, Peter Bagge, Garth Ennis, Alan Moore, Warren Ellis, Bill Sienkiewicz or Moebius. I'll stop here because nobody will read it this far anyway.

Well I guess since it's been almost a year since I've posted on here I'll reintroduce myself. I'm Eric and I use to spend a lot of time on yabs but because of school, I've been limited to how much free time I have but I'm back now and I hope I don't lose touch again.

I am not one for New Year's Resolutions, as they always seem a bit like, "Hmm.. Really? You couldn't do this sort of thing all year round and just call them Goals??". That said, one of my "goals" this year was to finally become more active in the forums on CBR. Having lain to rest my hardly-ever-regular-enough-to-be-called-Regular blog this year, I know have that much more time to make that Goal a bit more of a Reality..
So, me.. Hmmm.. My real name is Dominick. Been reading the "funny pages" for nearly 35 years (comics were one of the first things I read consistently, with Spider-Man being my main favorite and Bats and the Big 'S' coming in at a very close second). Rising costs (as well as lack of consistent quality) have forced me to cutback on my comics. The books I read each month are in my sig below.
When I'm not reading comics and/or working, free time is evenly distributed 'tween my dog Molly (my best friend ever), my girlfriend, and gaming (XBox as well as non-computer RPG's)..
Looking forward to being a part of the fun..

Hi Everyone.
I'm Drew. I'm a linux geek, bass player, and web designer in western North Carolina I've been reading comics for most of my life. I've had to cut back thanks to rising costs, but I'm still reading Love and Rockets, Wonder Woman, and Doom Patrol.

Poor Bobo shouldn't have the job of being lone Welcoming Committee, so I'll extend a hearty WELCOME myself! Have fun, relax (the De-Stressing and YABS Lounge are great for this), and don't let Ben Morgan near your cookies. He eats everything. ;)

Hi All, names OD.
By day I'm an interactive marketing manager — by night I review comics on Ain't It Cool News. You know what, I sometimes do marketing at night and comic reviews in the day depending on my mood. Horrible introduction...
I love to talk comics and can't believe how long it has taken me to finally post on CBR.
Why this particular thread? I am totally enamored with the fact that it's not only run by a comic creator, but she's also an active participant. Plus I was sucked right into the post "How would you run a comic company?"
Not sure if this is cool to mention here, but it is an "about me" fact. I just signed with Com.X to produce my title called "Average Joe." Volume 1 is a 90 page trade -- volume 2 is being written one little caffeine jolt at a time. We're looking for artists for volume 1, so if interested, please shoot me a PM. (please don't ban me if mentioning projects is taboo -- this will be my last time -- just kind of psyched to have a publisher).
Thanks for listening...

Hey, everybody.
My name's Olivia. I live in Vegas and I'm currently working towards a degree in Pharmacology(although what I'll do with it, I haven't the slightest idea).
I been reading comics on/off since 93'. Until recently I was an unabashed DC fangirl but lately I've found my interest waning. Currently my favorite titles are: Chew, The Unwritten, X-Factor, Daredevil, Incorrubtible, Locke and Key and Atomic Robo. My pull list has dwindled recently but what I am reading, I'm thoroughly enjoying.
Essentially, I've come to the conclusion that, when I'm not working and/or studying, I should engage in some form of social activity. Discussions on a comic book forum count right?

Hi I'm Bruce. I just turned 30 earlier this month. I am in the law enforcement field. From time to time I like to read Detective Comics, Batman, and Punisher Trade Paperbacks, and when I was younger I liked reading G.I. Joe from Marvel.
I hope from time to time (when I get to visit every other week or so) get involved in some entertaining and mind flexing discussions in this forum. Have a good weekend everyone.

I'm here cause my girl Femmy told me to join y'all. Used to post on a bunch-o-boards till I got sick of the bitchiness and everything...dipping my toes back in the water of online life for the first time in about eight years
So be gentle with me

Name's Spencer.
College student in SoCal.
I love philosophical/political debates, and have very weird theories about life, mainly due to Grant Morrison.
Love every type of media; music, TV, videogames, comics, books, prose, movies. I find it amazing how the same stories are told differently in each medium.
Looking for a nice online community to hang out at, and I think I've found it!
