DARK HORSE

REVELATIONS #3 (OF 6) $2.99
Jenkins and Ramos! So wonderful!! GORGEOUS book!

DC COMICS

ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN #645 $2.50
Rucka and Kershel! Hopefully we get a full issue of Kershel, this time. There've been a lot of multiple-artist issues lately. I absolutely adore Rucka's work on this, though.
CATWOMAN #48 $2.50
Pfeifer and Woods! And Selina alongside a bunch of DC villains!
JLA CLASSIFIED #13 $2.50
Ellis and Guice!! Cool!
JSA CLASSIFIED #4 $2.50
YAYYAYYAY!!!! Love this arc SO MUCH! Very excited to see how it ends!!
LEGION OF SUPER HEROES #11 $2.99
Waid! I really wish last issue hadn't been spoiled for me by the internet, but I guess that's my fault for not reading my comics fast enough.
SOLO #7 $4.99
This looks REALLY fun and crazy! An all-Mike Allred issue with TONS of old-school DCU characters!
TEEN TITANS #28 $2.50
Finally! Yay for Gail, "eh" for Liefeld.

NOBLE CAUSES #14 $3.50
Yaaaaay!! Such a great, fun book! Jay keeps delivering with this.

MARVEL

AMAZING FANTASY #14 $2.99
I picked up #13 on a whim because I REALLY dug the art in it. I haven't read it yet, though, so I have no idea if the story will do anything for me.
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #525 $2.50
The conclusion of PAD's chapter of The Other!
CAPTAIN AMERICA #11 $2.99
Brubaker and Lark! More of "The Winter Soldier"!
DAREDEVIL #78 $2.99
BENDIS!!!! His final arc continues...
DEFENDERS #4 (OF 5) $2.99
Penultimate issue of this crazy, wordy book. ^_~
HULK DESTRUCTION #4 (OF 4) $2.99
The conclusion of PAD's Abomination origin tale.
MARVEL MONSTERS MONSTERS ON THE PROWL $3.99
By Steve Niles and Duncan Fegredo! The idea of this sounded REALLY fun an interesting to me. The team make-up seemed like something that would be a lot of fun to read. A group consisting of Giant Man, The Beast, The Hulk and The Thing! Two geniuses and two... not so geniuses (well... not when one of them is green). It could be REALLY great. ^_^
NEW AVENGERS #12 $2.50
BENDIS!!!!! SUCH A FREAKING WONDERFUL BOOK!!!!!!! "Ronin" Part 2.
NEW X-MEN #19 $2.99
The conclusion of the New X-Men's run in House of M.
NEW X-MEN ACADEMY X YEARBOOK SPECIAL $3.99
I'm really happy that Marvel didn't just end Christina and Nunzio's run on this book with a crossover and they were actually given a special issue in which to tie up loose ends and say their goodbyes. I really really enjoyed their work writing both NEW MUTANTS and NEW X-MEN and will miss them a great deal. But hey, this makes at least one book I can cross off my list, now.
SENTRY #2 (OF 8) $2.99
JENKINS!!!! I hadn't realized these might be stand-alone stories. Very cool!!
ULTIMATE SECRET #4 (OF 4) $2.99
Nice to have this chapter finished. I LOVE ELLIS' ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR SO MUCH!!! I dunno if these characters will be in the final chapter of this trilogy, ULTIMATE EXTINCTION but it's been a lot of fun reading them again, by way of his pen.

WIZARD

WIZARD COMICS MAGAZINE WOLVERINE & CAP CVR #170 $5.99
I got mine today! A rare before-shops-get-them occurance. And it had a nice, in-depth walkthrough of the original Crisis, so I'm REALLY happy about that, as one who didn't read the original but is LOVING the new INFINITE CRISIS.

COMICS

HERO AT LARGE #2 $2.99
YAAAAAY!!! Second issue of Jeremy Treece's new book! This ish, a comical look at the world of aging in super heroics. And if you look hard on page 13, you may find something cool. (for me, anyway) ^_~ And I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the new characters introduced in this issue. Especially Wildcard.
SUPER F$$$$$S #2 (MR) $5.00
The second TWISTED issue, by James Kochalka!

WAITING FOR THE TRADE:

LOVELESS #1 (MR) $2.99
SILENT DRAGON #4 (OF 6) $2.99

What a huge week for me.... I'm gonna have to take a second job if I have more weeks like this. :)

Loveless #1 - I love westerns, but Azzarello is hit and miss with me. Hopefully this is a hit. I'm also not that familiar with Frusin's work, so I'm curious about that too.

Silent Dragon #4 (Wildstorm) - This is a pure art book for me. I'm really enjoying Lenil Yu's pencils. I can understand why Marvel signed him.

Jack Cross #3 - I've liked one and two, and its only a 4 issue mini. Good stuff.

JLA Classified #13 - More Warren Ellis. Cant go wrong here.

Catwoman #48 - Pfeifer and Woods, a really underrated team.

Captain America #11 - One of my students just drew me a really great picture of Captain America. It's above my desk at school. Really cool. (I teach 5th grade)

Daredevil #78 - One of the great runs in Marvel history.....

Thunderbolts #14 - I was starting to lose interest, but the impending return of Baron Zemo has me excited again.

Sentry #2 - Havent read #1 yet, but Jenkins and JR JR is too good a team to pass up, and Sentry is a cool character. Looking forward to reading this.

Big Image week too:

Fear Agent #1

Small Gods #11 - This was a excellent book. Its a shame its being cancelled. Nobody bought it. Sigh....

Revelations #3

Angel #5 (IDW) - If IDW keeps putting out Angel comics then I'll keep buying them. I was a big fan of the series.

Really? For some reason I thought this was an ongoing...

JACK CROSS is, indeed, an on-going concern:

http://www.dccomics.com/comics/?cm=4095

A scary world demands a scary man — and that man's high-flying adventures unfold in JACK CROSS, a thrilling new ongoing series written by Warren Ellis (TRANSMETROPOLITAN, OCEAN) with art by Gary Erskine (THE FILTH, Star Wars: X-Wing Rogue Squadron)!

I believe the first story is a four-parter, though.

The publishers sent me a copy of PURGATORI #1. I didn't have to pay for it, but I still want my money back.

Am so happy to see that this week's release list is about ten times the length of last week's. It's going to get expensive out there, isn't it?

HERO AT LARGE looks Dead @ 4. See All the Rage (http://www.silverbulletcomicbooks.com/rage/index1.htm) for details.

Three books I want to get this week:

Marvel Knights Spiderman-The Other Pt. 2. This issue wasn't in last week at my comic shop (the box didn't come I guess). I didn't get a chance to check the shop on Friday last week (when the box, hopefully, came in), so I hope I'll be able to pick this book up on this Friday.

Amazing Spiderman #525-The Other Pt. 3. Its really cool, imo, to have so much PAD Spiderman this month. I really liked FNS alot and I can't wait to read MK Spiderman & Amazing (the previews I read of these were really good). Its a great month for Spidey! :)

Book of Lost Souls #1-I think this comes out this week too right? Hope so. It seems like a really interesting new book. I'm a big JMS fan and I thought Midnight Nation was one of his best (if not his best) comic book work so far and this is supposed to be sort of like that mini-series. Looking forward to it!

And thats prob all I'll get. Though I don't know. This week might be a good week to get a TPB. Any recommandations?

STRANGE GIRL #4

Jeff

Hey Jeff - How is this book? Are you diggin' it?

Augie De Blieck Jr.
10-26-2005, 07:09 AM
If you like STRANGE GIRL, better buy it now. It's in danger, though I can't for the life of me recall where I read that. Rick Remender posted somewhere that the book is going to die due to low initial orders. The re-orders make it profitable, but it's tough to wait those extra months for the additional cash flow.

I haven't read it past issue #2, I'm ashamed to say.

Issues #1 and #2 are floating around in PDF format somewhere.

In the meantime, Remender chats about the series (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=5924) here at CBR.
