You gotta understand atoningunifex, that I've got a pretty active imagination. And when a guy can put across such excitement over a make-believe character using the net that Flight does, my mind tends to wonder and conjur up images that I dare not speak. Plus, I've know some people from Scotland and they can be scary.

On topic ( so as not to annoy Mr. Bib :) ) I love Bakla's artwork. great talent there buddy.

There's so much that's great about your drawing, F!NCH, from the composition to the effects to the figure, but what I like most about it (as a fellow artist) is the fact that you drew his feet/boots so well that they're believable and not just som weird tips or blobs. Jim Lee can't draw feet very well, and Alan Davis nowadays can't be bothered. Bravo!

Love it. You definitely know your anatomy. Really like the leg lines - between the knee placement and the swing of the curve on his outer calf, it's obvious you have a good handle on drawing legs. It reminds me of when I do fashion illustrations and do really quick croques.

Very cool but if there was one thing I would change it would be like the head. I liked the one in the sketch alot more with more of just graphical colors. That looks too rendered and kinda draws it out more. Beautiful layout though.

OK, this is my first DMAX ever. The fact that I can't really draw doesn't help.

OK, I drew the face on this but did the rest using the greatest Windows program ever, MS Paint.

Great stuff, all - i think this is one of atoning's best work that I've seen here. But Veg goat, I'm honored - that's a really cool American Anime style drawing! I love the effect, too - it reminds me a little of Widget from Excalibur's first run, but it's cool applied to Havok in that illustration style!

As for displaying the pciture- you need to have web hosting that aloows hotlinking to use the image tag. Otherwise you have to add the pic as an attachment. Both work equally well. :)

Atoning, you're incredibly talented and I could eat my own face with envy. This one holds a particular place in my heart for obvious reasons (yum) but the whole series has been very special.

I posted this over in the "I Heart Havok" thread, and even if they're just really rough croqués, I figured I should post them over here as well.

I like the idea of a full body suit for Alex (top right costume), maybe if there's a storyline where his powers are so out of control he needs to cover up completely. With a name like Havok, he could look more like an ominous character, so why not.

Otherwise, most of these are just variations using old visor ideas and detail reworkings...

While I don't think I'm anywhere near Flight's love for Havok, he has always been one of my top five favorite X-men.

Only thing is they never use him the way they should or could, so I've always had this thought of what if Sinister with his catalog of mutant DNA decided to create a Jean Grey /Alex Summers son. A kid he raises for one purpose: Uswe Jean's genetic structure to take the Phoneix and utterly destroy Apocalypse. Of course he would be bad but completely evil.

Imagaine, Copper blonde hair, blue or green eyes, same body style as Havok and forgoing the spandex costume look for leather. If I could draw this I would but I zero talent for art and no way to channel Jim Lee so I've had to live with it in my head.

Could anyone help me get it out of my head? I know it's not Havok exactly but it's close enough?;) Right? Right?

I was looking at the last issue fo Earthwar last week and chuckling over Element Lad's hair. So 70s- but so much better than the perm of the 80s.

Off Topic: Mike Grell's perm (with heavy sideburns!) was kinda scary, although he never really drew it curly a la Ryan Philippe (or Justin Guarini!). Your 'do on Havok looks like the original one Cockrum drew for him, which I loved way back when.... I seem to recall it in a story set in Smallville with the Legion travelling back in time to avert a plan by the Fatal Five...! My first 'new' Legion story that subsequently got me hooked on them, then later the X-men. Geez, that was so long ago...
