Ok, since the last one was a tie, I'm mixing it up a tad...
The poll will be active for 7 days, so get voting people! :D

Now, with this crowd, I can be a tad less indecisive. :D
EM, who has been dying to (re)read Promethea since Book 5 arrived

I know Planetes is five $10 volumes.
Anyone have the approximate stats for the other choices?

Well, there all the ABC volumes are either $15-18 in tpb or $25 in HC.
Promethea - 5 volumes
Tom Strong - 5 volumes
Top 10 / 49ers - 3 volumes
LoEG - 2 volumes
Tomorrow Stories - 2 volumes

Reason enough to go with Planetes!!
Seriously, I think we should wait until series's are fully out in TPB before doing them, which would rule out Promethea and Tom Strong - for the time being.

Ok, I finally voted for Planetes - as I did last time.
We need a tiebreaker!

For what it's worth, PROMETHEA is complete already, though I like all the top choices so far.

Just a reminder - this poll is closing tomorrow! I'll be away from a computer, as I'll be visiting my sis in Tampa until Monday, so I thought I'd remind you all!
Also - Next week is Blade of the Immortal Vol. 10!

And Dark Horse just solicited for the next BOTI trade in January.
Wait, it's Dark Horse. It might be a pre-solicitation solicitation for February. I'll look it up when I get home.
I think I'll be reading BOTI 9 tonight, at last, if I can get This Other Thing done first.

HA! That would be excellent timing! I already waited to read #14 until after we get through this, now I'll have 2 new vol's!
FYI - I just found BotI vol #15: TRICKSTER is due in Feb. 2006 on Forbidden Planet's site.

True, but the TPB isn't out (or even submitted unless I'm mistaken) yet.
That said, I'm just about finding the will to buy and read the TPBs, but I don't think I'll be interested in re-reading them for a few years.

No, it's just a HC so far. I bet the tpb won't be out for a while.
Ok.. we've got 13 votes. I think there's going to have to be 1 more poll with just Promethea and Planetes. We're getting there....

Dan,
Check your local library. I think you'll be surprised how many libraries are carrying graphic novels these days. Even a non-GN friendly library might have Promethea, since it is published under Warner, and as a result, Publisher's Weekly usually reviews them.
Then there's always Inter-Library Loan.

I could, but I have a kind of rule that I don't read books that I'm going to buy until I've bought them. Otherewise I might not find the will to buy them and I'll have an incomplete collection hanging around
