Is anybody else sick of spiderman getting his ass handed to him by elektra? She is only peak human right?

Elektra's a very highly trained ninja. It's one thing for spider-man to whip the ass of some low level thugs, but he's not in Elektra's league. So the fact she hands his ass to him every time they meet doesnt bother me.

Wrong forum. This should be in the Ultimate forum.

That should not matter. Ninja or not, her speed etc. should be still human.

Hrm... I see spoiler warnings, but no spoilers...

(And the Kingpin alone has handed Petey his ass on more than one occasion, in both universes. I don't have a problem with Elektra managing it, as long as Spidey can still win a cross-town race. ;) )

The spoiler was supposed to be for the give away that spidey gets stomped by elektra....again. Anyway, when spidey fights, everyone else pretty much moves in slow motion in comparison to him. I don't see how anyone peak human or below could land a finger on him.

Man I agree. After reading the issue I thought to myself...here's spider-man who can web up everyone in the room in a few seconds while fighting everyone and then one on one with Elektra he gets beat down. Didn't make sense to me.

i really enjoyed this issue. lots of action, some great humour, and the arc hasn't been boring at all. i don't mind elektra handing spidey's behind to him.. spidey can't be in everyone's league. also, there's one more issue left. who's to say that he won't get his day? webs are webs. seemed to work well as an unexpected tactic, but as we can see, elektra is fairly quick herself (ninja, people!). it wouldn't be interesting if spidey didn't have any trouble with any of the villains. =P

now, all i'm waiting for are all these answers that bendis is promising about the mysteries of USM. i can't wait another year and a bit to get to 100. hehe

Just got around to reading this issue today--man, what a blast!

The scene in which Spidey webs down everyone in the room has to be one of my favorite USM moments to date. The banter he makes while using Montana's cell to call the cops is priceless. A classic Spidey moment all around.

So, at the end of the letters page, it hints that someone will die next issue. Any bets on who it will be?

things look pretty grim for moon knight right about now.. but black cat survived being impaled too.. i think bendis said he wouldn't off dewolff, but i think there could be a lot of interesting possibilites to explore something like that. however, offing anothe supporting character that spidey has a "business" relationship with might not be a good move at this point.

Best action in the whole arc is in this issue.

I thought that moon knights dead by now...but that cell phone snap-shot was a suprise.

Great ass-kickin by Elektra, she friggin almost killed him, in real life he'd probably be dead from that fall.

One of the reasons I started this thread was because I just watched the spiderman movie again. You get a 1st person view of what its like to have super fast reaction time. For those that don't remember pete is fighting flash in the hall and flash takes a swing. During the punch everything is moving in slow motion except pete, he has enough time during the punch to 1) See it coming 2)avoid it 3)look at the fist, look up at flash and then look back at the fist. If thats how spidey sees during his fights (this is as good a representation as any) then no sub superspeed person should be able to touch him, let alone smack him around.

The movie is not a direct translation. That was taking a liberty right there to show a cool power.

Spider-Man's spider-sense just warns him of general danger coming from some direction. That's how he reacts so quickly.

I agree that they took many liberties with that movie but some things were consistent. For instance, in all the movies and in all the comic books he has a spider sense, super strength, super agility...you get the picture. As a representation of having super fast reaction time, I believe that the hall scene was "as good a representation as any" of said power. It could have been done many different ways but the way it was done was pretty cool and gave you an idea of what it would be like to have super fast reactions.

When Hammerhead's gun clicked empty, was that Black Cat's bad luck power taking effect for the first time in the Ultimate MU?

actually when black cat first appeared a while back spidey had tons of bad luck. he started tripping and his web shooters went empty when he fell off a building. it was really funny

I think the fight scene makes it clear that Pete is holding back greatly during that fight. He's chatting at her, fighting defensively, etc. He didn't want to hurt her.

I think next time he fights her, he'll cut loose, and she'll be paste.

Great story, but I can't be the only one thinking Peter is a bit of a self-righteous prick. Webbing up everyone in the room was a great gag, but to hear him talk, he thinks he's the only person in the room who shouldn't be arrested.

I understand the situation was confusing, and nobody there was an official anything. But things were calm after he webbed everyone up and before he called the cops (which was also hilarious :D ). Plenty of time to suss out the sides. What, it's okay for him to wear a costume and beat people up but not okay for Moon Knight? Or for Shang Chi and Danny to beat people up without costumes? Hell, this is the SECOND time he's interfered with Danny trying to fight crime.

As someone who's taken a lot of grief from both the cops and Daredevil, you'd think Peter might take half a second to figure out everyone's story. It reeks of hypocrisy to me.
