I was going to post a thread in these forums............but don't know the forum rules.

Such as:
What is this forum for?
Can I bring up topics here, that were brought up say on the Batman boards?
Can I post a thread about something like a Movie, or does it have to go in the TV/Movie section?

etc.

What a good boy I am, making sure of things before I post.

the only rule is that you can not start new threads asking what threads are allowed...

it's a lot like fight club.

As far as I've been able to tell:

What is this forum for?
Whatever you can think of, though things relating to Gail Simone's body of work are nice (but, obviously, not required) and repeat threads are probably not the best of ideas.
Can I bring up topics here, that were brought up say on the Batman boards?
Yeah.
Can I post a thread about something like a Movie, or does it have to go in the TV/Movie section?
No, it can go here.
etc.
Gail Simone, the moderator here, seems to take a kind of laisser faire policy towards the running of these boards. She attempts not to ever delete or edit topics or posts, she doesn't like (and has yet to) ban individuals, even ones who long ago proved they weren't good people, she doesn't combine threads or force people to stay on a specific topic, doesn't close threads and so on.

In fact, as far as I can tell, she just doesn't use her mod powers much at all. Stickying threads seems to be about the height of her moderator actions. Which is probably a good thing, seeing as unlike other moderators she gets into very heated discussions on occasion, like up to and beyond flame war kinda situations. So not using her mod powers there probably keeps this from just being a personal soapbox. Well, an exclusive personal soapbox anyway.

Post anything you like!

I do ask that most political threads stay on the political thread that's already up, but that's about it!

How else do you afford comics? Do they have a government comics program, sort of like government cheese?

Even if they did, I bet they wouldn't give out Gail's books. More likely they'd give out leftover issues of "Avengers: Dissassembled" or JLA ELITE.

Geez, kids these days have it so easy. Back when I was a kid, I had to sell blood and one of my kidneys to afford comics.

Or, if you do call her stupid, make sure you're just saying her opinions are stupid, but she isn't.

If some eager writer lady with a cheshire cat-like grin coems along and asks if you want to be in a comic, just say no. Cos she'll just mow you down in a katrina sized gust of gunfire.

Who is this person? Well, I'm classy enough not to say. I will give a clue though, she's one of Wizard's Top Ten Writers, but good luck guessing who.

Oh and 'Hail He moans'.

Do with that what you will.

If you come across a post by a certain poster whose real name rhymes with Anthony Meow(Ooooh, I'm gonna start calling him that from now on) just remember this: All his posts are summed up in this one comic strip.

As the Official* YABS Historian, allow me to provide some background on the long and storied past of this, the most prestigious of the CBR Boards.

It all started back in the day. CBR columnists were all drab and serious. People would cry when they came to the CBR homepage, knowing that their eyes were about to be assaulted by rational analyses of the comics industry. They needed something to liven them up. Something with vim. Something with vinegar. Something with that little ol' razzamatazz. That something was Gail Simone.

Hot off the Hair Dresser Circuit, Simone was brought on to write what has come to be known as perhaps the most influential column ever scribed by a columnist in the entire history of ever: You'll All Be Sorry. The acronym originally stood for Yetis Are Big Sissies, but due to a lawsuit with Bigfoot Supporters of America, that had to be changed.

Gail was an overnight success. Her first YABS column didn't just break the internet in half, it shattered it into countless, hilariously hilarious pieces. People craved more YABS. What's more, they craved a place to talk about it. And thus, the YABS board was created.**

*I'm not really official.
**All of this is probably made up.

Hmmm.... that is a very good question. I'm not sure. There used to be a link off of the CBR main page, but it's not there anymore. I would assume they are still around somehow. I wonder....

Moo hah ha. I am a fantastical genius. Or I just went to the archived columns section. One of the two.

"Pirate sharks" is an oxymoron. Or maybe just moronic. Sharks MUST have lasers strapped to them! It's the law!
