It is a thrill to say that Ms Simone is the greatest writer in comics today. Although the t/a of Birds of Prey was a little off putting, the writing is something I can show to anyone who says they don't like comics. It has worked with everyone but my wife!

Welcome aboard, Wrigley. :D
Thank you; been out of comics for awhile, and they aren't as easy to find in Kenya. Thank God for graphic novels and Amazon.

Never been to Aust.

Tell me your favorite three comics.

thanks!

Ignore Kingdom. Bitter is the best way to describe the bugger. :)

My favourite comics are Birds of Prey, Astonishing X-Men and Batman ( when he's not been written as an anti-social wanker ).

Australia is mostly nice. Just try not to touch or pick up anything that may kill you in 10 minutes or less.

By the way, I'm a male heterosexual.

My ID pic of Black Canary is due to me just being a fan of the sheila. :)

In the last few years, I have been expecting a JLA issue when they all beat Batman up for being a jerk.

BTW: I am a male hetro also, but have friends of all types of people.

Tread lightly Wrigley. Last time she told someone "we need to talk" YoGo took a bullet. I'm sure you've heard about it. He hasn't quit crying about it yet.

I would be honored to talk to you. We have a big time difference between the US and Kenya, but if we can make it work, it would be a thrill.

Or something else.

I grew up in Illinois, and my favorite place in the world was Wrigley Field, where the Cubs play. It was my special place with my dad. I named my third son Stephen Wrigley; he didn't live long enough to get to Wrigley Field, but I wanted him to know that he was special too.

Hmmm. Apparently I am a liar. I talked to my mom, and she said my cousin was in Uganda, not Kenya.

In my defense, they do both end in the letter A. And have an N in the middle.

I've never read Gotham; what is it like? I hated Cap in the Ultimates; how are they playing him now?

Gotham Central is pretty close to a police procedural, only with the Gotham Major Crimes unit. I'd say it's a lot like "Homicide," only with supervillians. Sometimes Bat shows up. I think my favorite arc might be the one with Josie Mac investigating Catwoman for a burglary/murder.

There's at least two trades available, I think. My advice is to skip the "Half a Life" trade, though. It's five issues and there are some good moments with Montoya's coming out as a lesbian but the overall plot is very weak.

The regular Marvel U Captain America is being written by Ed Brubaker and it's the best Captain American since Mark Waid and Roger Stern, in my opinion. I didn't like Cap in Ultimates. I like this one, he's a soldier but he's also a hero. Supporting characters include Nick Fury, Sharon Carter and some other familiar faces. There's some funny business going on with Cap's wartime memories right now due to a damaged Cosmic Cube.
It's great stuff and the artwork is at least equal to Hitch's work on Ultimates.

We're here in YABS. Baboons evolved from Yabsers.

So this is kind of like a homecoming for you.

I appreciate your perspective. I knew I was back in the clutches of comic books when I was truly offended by the Ultimates take on Cap.
