Do you mean most racist as in their personal viewpoints, or the most racially insensitive PORTRAYED character?

If it's the latter, well, there's our buddy Chop-Chop...

Or good ol' Steamboat...

Technically, the Friends of Humanity are racist, since they hate Mutants, which are a race of humans.

Hmmm... I'd say Red Skull off the top of my head. For him, Racism is practically a source of power for him (not that he has any powers). If he were an anime character he'd probably be able to harness his racism enough to shoot fireballs.

For being just a kid Cartman is pretty bad. He raised an army to wipe out the Jews by emulating Hitler and using the Passion has a recruitment tool and restarting the Civil War and almost forcing president Clinton to recognize the slavery and allowing slavery to be reestablished...that's just some of the bastardized things he has done based on ethnic and cultural hate.

ISTR the civil war thing was not motivated out of a love of slavery, it was just him trying to win a bet with Stan and/or Kyle.

He sees all white guys (including Hyperion) as KKK dudes/Rednecks.

Yep you're right but the bet was Stan and Kyle would have to become Cartmans slaves. Later in teh episode he showed knowledge that slavery could be reinstated if Clinton signed the document (after the sex-tape threat).

Therefore saving black people, white people, and every other colour?

Lazy writing.

So, it was basically a superpowered version of that Dave Chapelle sketch where a blind white supremist dies, without realizing that he himself was black.

Man, the Black Bomber has to be the worst idea yet. How did they expect the readers to react to it? Did they think ANYBODY would buy it? Talk about asleep at the wheel.

I don't just mean on the cover, which is common enough, but on the inside where I have always before seen the full name given.

I'k also sure I saw a reference to him calling himself just plain "Priest" somewhere, but I may have imagined it.

I think I read it was because there's a sci-fi author by the name of Christopher Priest, so he goes by Priest to avoid confusion, or something.

You know, if *ahem* Priest's real name wasn't Jim Owlsley, I'd be more impressed by that explanation.

I mean, who was asleep at the wheel there?

I know, I'll just change my name to William Faulkner.

It's not like Christopher Priest, sci-fi writer wasn't semi-well-known when he was still Jim Owlsley.

I didn't know it. Admittedly, I don't read much sci-fi--I only learned the name from when Priest said why he was just Priest now.

Although now I'm tempted to see if I can just go by Cunard.

Well, if the boats weren't there first.

I'm putting in a mention for The Real American, who appeared in All-Star Squadon #38-40. "He" was a Nazi agent of the Phantom Empire(basically the Klan. Redundant, no?) who incited race riots in Detroit. Turned out he was a robot.

You know, I never understood why Sambo's was considered bad, when I was young,UNTIL the meaning was pointed out to me. Back in the early 70s("71-"72), we had the resturant right up the street from grandma's home, it closed its door around '74.

I don't get how the character Sambo is A racist, which is what I think the thread question seems to infer.

Certainly, in the book L'ill Black Sambo, the portrayal is racist, no doubt.

?

Yeah, if you want to make Hal a real racist, he should just save only the white people whenever the next threat comes up. Better yet, let Hal go all moody on that guys ass and point a finger at him and go:

"You are right old man, I'm a racist, so next time I'll save a city, I'll just go round and only save the white people, and if I can't select during a mission, then I'll just creep in afterwards and kill all the black people I find, because you know, they would've died if I hadn't saved them, and seeing how I'm such a racist, I'm going to go back to each and every city I saved, every world, every universe, and retroactively show you how much of a racist I am... that's right gramps... PWNED!"

That guy from Supreme Power is a racist, and paranoid as well.

and did the Hellfire club ever have black members at prominent places?

Hatemonger... but he's a racist because... well, if he wasn't he wouldn't really be Hatemonger anymore now would he?

And I'll excuse the stuff from the old days, because different times come with different attitudes and you should put them in the time-frame in which they were created. They are racist today, but back then, they were "harmless".
