I didn't know what else to call it.

Long/short, my girlfriend's car was broken-into and multiple items were stolen. Of course, the authorities asked for information about the items, including their serial numbers. We may or may not have that information, but it'd damn-sure make it easier for the cops to distinguish HER stolen property from someone else's... if they should find it.

I don't expect them to find the items, but there's a chance. If you believe in that chance, I'd like to humbly suggest that you (especially you gadget-lovers) take a lil time to write down the serial numbers of your most expensive or move "loved" items*. If you can, stop reading this and go do it, now.

Obviously, this won't stop you from getting robbed/burgled (whatever), but it may help if you should ever find yourself in that position. I hope you never do.

* - ...if not ALL of them (those that HAVE serial numbers, of course).

But... my comics don't *have* serial numbers.

If you've got renter's/home owner's insurance, you might wanna give'em a call to make sure your books would be covered... or to find out how they COULD be.
