I had this posted on another thread, and think it sums it up well:
But for me, it would have to be Superman and Batman in DKR. This fight was led up to the enitre story. On one side, you have Clark, the tool of the establishment. This story did serious damage to Supermans standing in my opinion, and in a way, turned people away from the "brighter" side of being a hero, and more toward the new "darker" and gritty side. As in Batman. I guess this is what led to him truly becoming the dark knight. And it was as titantic a throwdown as you could hope, with the mortal left to stand over the "gods" body, only to seemingly "die". Just an awesome sight. Well written!

I have to concur. I also thought the fight between Batman and Batgirl about 6-8 months ago (they were both on some sort of adrenaline drug or something) was pretty intense.

do you know what issue that was? I would like to read that one.
and yeah, I have to say The Batman vs Superman from DK was the best.

That would be issue 50 and you would be advised to avoid everything post Puckket and pre Gabrinich unless you like badly written stories combined with inconsistent artwork. Yes I know I misspelled Pucket and Gabrich names multiple times in this post but I don’t have time to research the proper spelling. Sorry.

Well besides Dark Knight Returns I'll add:
Batman #612 - Vs Poison Ivy controlled Superman in Hush
Deathstroke #7 - Batman actually loses this battle against Slade but he puts up such a great fight to the point that Slade walks away with a new found respect for the dark knight on top of being badly injuried like he never has been before against any other opponent he's fought as a result of the fight.
Ten Nights of the Beast - Back when KGBeast actually was considered a threat to Batman and one of people capable of really challenging him.
Detective Comics Annual #3 - Battles his old martial arts mentor Tsunetomo and is even nearly fatally wounded in their first battle.
Legends of the Dark Knight #136 - Young Batman defeats a young soldier named Priest who eqaully as skilled as he is. Very nice fighting display of skill exchanged between the two.
Detective Comics #701 - Defeats Bane in legacy after a fairly lengthly battle and finally gets pay back against the man who broke his back.
Batman #600 - Vs Nightwing in the batcave. Although this battle was in favor of Batman the entire time, I really liked all the emotion behind the father and son duel going on. Mainly coming from Nightwing.
Batman #630 - Takes down the Scarebeast who has broken into Wayne Manor catching him while his guard is down. Despite this, with help from Alfred and Robin he's able to subdue the monster after bringing it down into the one place where he's most dangerous... the batcave.
Batman #635/641 - Vs Red Hood/Jason Todd. Even though I don't like the fact that Jason is back one single bit I can't ignore the fact that his fight with Batman was one of the best fight scenes I've seen in a Batman comic in a long time.
Batman #637 - Systemically taking down black market Amazo alongside Nightwing. I really liked this battle because it shows us the original dynamic duo back in action taking care of business.
Blood of the Demon #3 - Takes on Etrigan and although is beaten down he refuses to give up until he's finally able to stun Etrigan by slamming up against a building with a contruction truck. Which was just long enough for a spell to transform Etrigan back into Jason Blood.
