This is a panel from the current issue of Nightwing(113)

If you read what Nightwing says, "a fifteen year old primer-coloured 1993 coranado".

If it's from 1993, and is fifteen years old, does that not mean it#s 2008? o.O

But if that's true than how are there tie- ins to Villains United, though it would explain continuity problems.

Aargh, so confusing!

I think you just might win a No-Prize, It was probably just a mistake.

I think it's bad grammar. The color of the car is "Fifteen-year-old primer," apparently an unfashionable hue.

1993 models would have shown up in '92. Nightwing #113 is the December issue, so it's almost 2006. Call it thirteen and a half years. Lots of people approximate to the nearest 5 or 10 year mark when speaking. I think of my college days as being 10 years ago, even though it's closer to 12 now. I'd call my 1990 Grand Prix a 15 year old car, at least in casual conversation.

It is sort of odd here, though, to mention both the year and the approximate age of the car. Sounds like the writer padding the dialogue a little too much (attempting) to make it sound all cool and technical.

Nice artwork, awful awful dialog. His new costume gets a big "meh" too.

Agreed.

I think it is just bad grammar...

Why is Ravenger missing an eye on her mask?

She poked it out because she was afraid that her dad was about to leave her(he was yelling at her). He looked like he was about to puke over the whole thing.

That would explain why everyone else in DC is just ignoring Nightwing's book. Great catch. But if this is the future of Nightwing....can we start a dead pool begging him to be killed off in Crisis?

What makes this whole Nightwing arc terrible is the fact that Infinite Crisis #1 completely IGNORED this whole story. In Infinite Crisis #1, he is in his regular costume and giving his goodbyes to Donna Troy and a few others before they take off into space. You then see him watch on as a whole onslaught of OMAC's follow them.

So if this has supposedly been a Villains United tie-in, then how in the world is it being ignored...

I'm officially done with the book as of this issue. Story has been low quality from the beginning. Only was picking it up since it was supposed to be a Villains United tie-in and so far hasn't even come close to that.

Over in the pages of this week’s Robin Tarantula makes a special guest appearance and is about to contact a person we assume to be a member of the bat family so maybe the Devin’s run is going to be explained as taking place post Infinite Crisis.

A more likely explanation is that some editor somewhere didn't pay much attention to continuity in this week's comics.

Also, then why start this current Nightwing arc around Countdown? Why not make it a shorter arc starting around Infinite Crisis?

Somehow, after this arc, we know this will end up with Ravager getting another shot at Cassandra in Batgirl...

Plus we have Deathstroke showing up in Batman this week. We don't even know where the current arc of takes place in continuity. We know it is pre-Rock of Eternity explosion but nothing else...

Very good points produced form a logical mind that pays attention to all details but the thing is that DC is in a bind right now as they are going to have to explain why Devin’s Nightwing costume and outlook is so radically different from the version in The Outsiders, Infinite Crisis and The return of Donna Troy. If they say that Nightwing was the original book to jump ahead a year the editors suddenly have a quick way out so from their perspective why not take it?

Because it doesn't make any sense. I'm not even going to argue if DC is truly blind right, because they can't be. If they are...that is a truly very bad thing.

Didn't DC say the OYL would happen after Infinite Crisis #5. That's outright deception...

Your not only telling the reader when stuff is going down, but also you're deceiving them at the same time.

They did the same thing with OMAC...outright deceiving the reader.

I agree with you about the Omac project. DC promised that each book would be a self contained mini event that would lead into Infinite Crisis. Due to the strength of sales from the four tie-in books DC released tie-in to the tie-ins which violated the promise right there. Then they further violated the same promise by making Sacrifice necessary reading for Omac Project. For what it worth Greg Rucka said he was sorry to the readers and it up to us on an individual level whether or not we accept his apology. I enjoyed Sacrifice as well as Omac Project but I can understand why people felt they had been duped and suckered into being forced to buy books they normally would not touch.

DC is in bind right now because for roughly two years they have been releasing hints and teases to Infinite Crisis and unfortunately such a massive project wasn’t as well coordinated as it should have been. People point to Nightwing but it not just him. It looks like we have two different origins to Power Girl’s as Loebs Version and Johns aren’t meshing.
