We had a thread for this before - but I have a new one :

This week-end I sat down reading a thriller by my favorite authors Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child "Brimstone" while enjoying a beer.
One of the characters in the book one time asks for a "Bud" - but all he can get is a strange - in his opinion - beer called "Pilsner Urquell".
Personally I havenīt tried one of those in years, only the day before I bought one. And now it was standing right next to me.
Later I took a break from reading the novel and read a newspaper article about the temple in Angkor Wat - Cambodia (Thanks Rick). When I resumed reading - again the same day - the first page I got to, one of the characters is on honeymoon at Angor Wat

Did I metion the book is about someone apparently making a pact with the Devil ?
Well - I highly recommend Douglas Preston & Lincoln Childs books to all Hellboy fans. Start out with "Relic" from 1995 - if you dare (and avoid the movie).

.. and I heartily recommend Pilsner Urquell - it's my favorite non-local-micro-brewed beer! :)

I blew all mine in the last thread about this. But those are great, spooky coincidences. I have them all the time.

Angkor Wat is in Cambodia, by the way...close!

I've just remembered. I always capture 'orbs' on camera. Orbs being the first manifestation of ghosts apparently. They're rare light anomalies, and the only way to tell apart an orb from just a lense flare is that you need three orbs in the picture, and that they're not in a row. If they are, its just lense flare. Apparently, when I was staying in an old house (It was built in the 14th Century) there was an orb captured on film by my parents. I think it came out of a painting...

Orbs are almost always (if not always) dust close to the lens and reflecting the light of the camera flash.

Then I'd love to see that! Light can reflect from anywhere. Hey, I'd love for any of the photos or videos I've seen of so-called ghosts to be real. Just haven't seen one yet that I buy as authentic. There's always a logical explanation.

Check out this cool video:

http://www.ebaumsworld.com/videos/ghostgirl.html

Now, this is probably just a person or a dog or something and not a ghost. However, I find it hysterical that the guy shooting the video, who is obviously there looking for ghosts (in a cemetery in the middle of the night), finally finds one maybe and the first thing he does is run away as fast as he can, screaming for his life.

Lmao!! :D

Thats awesome!!

As for the photos/film, I dont know where they are right now, but Ill see if I can find 'em. You know, it probably is light, but at the time I was pretty spooked, what with being in a 14th Century house that was in the Doomsday Book!

It's in my humble opinion THE BEST LOCAL BEAR here in Poland (well maybe here in western europe- it's made in czech republic). If any of haven't had a chance to taste it- go buy one and enjoy the tase of one of the first label beers in the world!!

Interesting video, but I call prank. It looks like somebody with costume made out of burlap sack and a couple big Christmas lights. Or I'd buy that it's some sort of animal, because of the way the eyes caught the light. Last I checked ghosts aren't known for having reflective eyes. If he were looking for the Jersey Devil instead, then you might have me convinced. But a ghost? That's no ghost.

Yeah, I thought it odd how the eyes caught the light...

Now this IS a spooky book.
Some days ago I made a post about Mignola to appear in France at a convension in the city of Angouleme. A few days later I get to a page (in the above mentioned book) about a violin being repaired in a violin-shop in ANGOULEME.

This canīt be a coincidence. This is a hell of a book.

Jan,

You want to know about weird? I live with weird.
Here's just a sample.
Being in Florida, Alan & I like to go to Asheville, NC,
to visit Fall and Winter. We've been going there
for several years. Asheville is a spookfest in itself.
It's in a direct line with the Bermuda Triangle and
is one of the most haunted cities in the US.
There is a well-known resort in Asheville called
the Grove Park Inn. In spite of the fact that it is
haunted by a young woman who fell to her death
from an upper floor balcony (The Pink Lady)
it continues to flourish as a luxury resort and
exclusive spa. On the lower level of the resort
there was a dance club called Elaine's. Very popular.
Always crowded. Whenever Alan & I went to Elaine's
we'd get a weird spooky kind of feeling-the hair
standing up on the back of your neck kind. We
could never stay very long-we always felt like
we had to get out of there.

For some reason, the restrooms for Elaine's were
one floor above the club. To get to them you had to
use an elevator that had 3 glass walls-the fourth
being the side with the door. One particular time,
I got in the elevator and hit the button for one floor
up. As the doors closed, I had the distinct feeling
I was not alone. I couldn't see anyone, but I knew
there was someone standing behind me, a tall
male dressed in evening clothes-either a guest from
the days when people dressed lavishly for dinner,
or a tuxedoed waiter-if I had to pick, I'd say a
guest. The elevator did not stop one floor up-the
button I'd hit-but went several floors up to one
of the guestroom floors. The door opened. No one
got in. But I had the feeling the presence in the
elevator with me got out. That electrical prickly
feeling disappeared completely. The elevator door
closed-I didn't touch a button-and the elevator
went down to the restroom floor. The door opened
and I couldn't get out of there fast enough.

EPILOGUE

I didn't know this at the time of the incident, but
a lot of guests and locals were having paranormal
experiences at Elaine's. On our trip to Asheville this
fall I was told by an Asheville resident that Elaine's
was permanently closed in 2004 because the guests
were freaked out by the chairs levitating and flying
around the room.

To start with - I was born on the 13th. - thatīs the only spooky thing. ;)
Over the years I have found out that "13" certainly is not an unlucky number for me.

Wow, that's some creepy stuff! 13 is also my lucky number, since, I too, was born on the 13th.
Hmm, other creepy stuff. Well, if I have time to remember (my memories prrrretty bad!) I may be able to remember some spooky stuff.
