I don't see why it matters.
It matters because Geoff is writing Infinite Crisis, this year's big event, and I guarantee you that during that story, Batman will be made to look an even bigger dick and an incompetent chump, than he does now.

I'm not reading anything connected to Infinite Crisis, and I'm pretty sure that even if Geoff Johns "hates" Batman, the effects of his hatred will have completely disappeared from the Batman comics in six to twelve months. Again, I can't see why it matters.

You're not aware of this 'one year later' shit, are you?
Aparently (according to rumour) after IC, Bruce Wayne ends up in Arkham and Dick Grayson takes over as Batman.
Or something like that. Whatever happens, IC WILL have an effect on the Batman titles.

That's just one of the rumors from LITG. It hasn't been confirmed. And Geoff has continuously pointed out that he does not "hate" Batman, who is one of his favorite characters.

He may not hate Batman.
But he is absolutely clueless about how to write him.

It just seem to me...He want to take batman dickness and multiply it..just so he can knock him down a few notches (DC words not mind)
Basicly make him Crazy just to prove a point

Why does it matter if a writer likes or hates a character? Isn't part of being a good writer the ability to write well regardless???
I'm sure Geoff writes a lot of characters that he doesn't love. But being a professional, I'm sure he will handle all characters with at least a good story.

I think GJ has stated somewhere that he personally doesn't like Batman, so why is He the editor on the bat books?

How can you say that? He's never written a Batman story, has he?
I've said this before and I'll repeat it now: I'll take Geoff's version of Robin (in Teen Titans) over the way Tim is being written in his own book any day of the week.

I haven’t seen it. He portrays Batman the way the Bat-books portrays him. If anything, while admittingly retaining the arrogance, Johns has toned down the disrespectful way he treats his allies and subordinates. Remember, in “Rebirth” Batman had every reason to distrust Hal Jordan; he didn’t know the true story of Parallax as we readers did. It certainly was arrogant to use his Bat-a-rang to get Jordan’s attention instead of just raising his voice. But aside from that one confrontation, Johns hasn’t showed us a Batman any worse then the one appearing his family of titles. If anything, his is a tad less jerkish. That's why I find it amazing that Gail Simone has been allowed to get away with writing a human Batman in Birds of Prey. Probably because he’s had only brief appearances there.
Let’s hope the Bat-editors don’t find out about it and put a stop to *that*.

I don't think he hates Batman. I think he goes with the current editorial wishes for the most part, which make Batman somewhat of a dick and extremely paranoid. Perhaps he isn't fond of Batman, certainly I can see him wishing to write Green Lantern more than Batman, but not hate; anything he writes has to get past editorial after all.

You ever given any thought that this is another way of making Batman a lone character? Oracle moved to Metropolis, Dick has gone rogue, Gordon's retired, Leslie's a killer, Selina may be out too, what's left is to make Robin into a soldier and there you have it. Batman is all alone. As he should be, IMO. It's hard to believe he's a traumatized loner when he's up there in the Satellite having coffee with the JLA or talking computer memory upgrades with Tim Drake.
And there's a reason there was no trace of Robin in Batman Begins. It would have been really difficult to take his crimefighting seriously had he been running around with a little brat with no pants.

I thought I got a vibe of some Bat-hatred when I read Flash and GL:Rebirth, but as others have said, over time, it doesn't really seem like his Batman is any different from anyone else's at this point. I liked how Batman was written in his JLA arc (though that could've been Heinberg, who knows) and I'm very curious as to what he'll do with him in IC.

I don't think he's clueless about Batman. I think he just really doesn't like the character. He generally trys to make him look like as much of an ass as possible(which isn't that hard).

Are you talking about the one where he is talking to Supes and Diana. That is the opposite of what you're saying if so. THAT is the kind of line you give a character that is going to makes Supes fans pissed.

Thing is Batman was all ways a Dick
But they kind of multiply it said a 1000. I think just to build him up to a downfall
Tower of Babel made sense for a single story, fits, was logical, JLA was right to be piss..but you can see from Both sides, tried to make up for it. He showed trust to them with the ID reveal.
Now they say Batman broke..but what broke him. Wasnt that broke till War games, and Omac made him the Worlds biggest F up
Really those two BACK TO BACK..really make him a F up
He really didnt need to be knock down that many notches till Omac made him a Supervillan..where even the HARDCORE batman fans just cant stand him now..it was promblem before but they just increase it by a HUGE amount
And pretty sure it will just continue in IC
