Although there were rumours of Bats death, I'm hoping this is just a joke. After all, didn't Johns say that when Batman is replaced it's always a matter of when he's coming back? If he does die, expect a reserection in the one year later.

Earlier, in the same Q&A, Johns said he loves Batman. This is probably him just having a bit of fun with the same stale question.

Do I think Bats will die in IC? Not really. And, if he does, he'll be back. Either in OYL like Ali says, or shortly after.

I read that Johns quote as tongue-in-cheek. The Bruce Wayne/Batman we know in our universe can't go anywhere long term. But if we're dealing with multiple universes, maybe an alternate Bats bites it.

This has to be Johns joking. Batman Begins just made had a nice time at the B.O. this summer and a sequel is in the works. I don't care what the powers that be or Johns or whomever is saying about Bats dying. there's no way they'd kill off a moneymaking big name. the ability to sell action figures, a lunch box, and t-shirts is a character insurance policy

But isn't there a Lazarus Pit in the Bat cave now? I vaguely remember someone saying that it appeared in Ra's year one. But I never read it, mostly because of my boycott of everything Devin Grayson.

It was very dickish.

Then Hal punches Bruce in a 2 page spread. Bruce goes flying backwards.

I agree it's most likely a joke, but as it seems Ra's will be back, I wouldn't be suprised if Batman dies for a while. I mean, Green Lantern, Superman, Hawkman, Green Arrow, Jason Todd and Donna Troy have all died and come back. It's about time that Batman caught up with them :P
I personally think Batmans rebirth is a stupid idea, but I wouldn't rule it out. I mean, he did die near the time of the last Crisis, and they are talking about many events being mimicked in this Crisis.
