OK, so someone reported noticing that Loki was seated behind Thor in the coffeeshop when Volstag came to warn Thor that the trickster was loose.
Then, Thor looks up when the waiter tells him that he's been sitting alone talking to himself.
Which issue was this in?
Second, has anyone gone back through ALL issues of the Ultimates and looked for how many appearances Loki may have made in the background?
I think I may have spotted another one in the Second volume, issue 2.
Remember when Cap storms into Hades, Thor's nightclub, and confronts Thor about supposedly leaking the Banner/Hulk ID? Notice the pannel when Thor turns and says "Excuse me?" The upper left panel not only is a profile of Thor, but balancing him in the frame is a girl who MAY look like a female Loki sitting a distance from him, but smiling just the same.
Has anyone counted the number of appearances Loki MAY have made?
(Also, has any conclusion been made based upon the final two pages of issue two... where Banner is in cell talking with Hank Pym ON CAMERA as Pym says, look who they are phazing out... and Fury rewinds the tape and listens to it again?
I thought about this, and it occurred to me that this is the mechanism to change from the original Avengers to Cap's Kookie Quartet... that is, Cap, Wanda, Pietro, Clint.... and all the originals are gone... Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Giant Man, Wasp...
What do you all think?

I think they replaced the Hulk forum with an Ultimates one.

See this amusing post on UC by Bass, the originator of the "Loki Manifesto"

There was also some chatter over whether Loki was one of the SHIELD forensics techs in issue #8, but that was eventually ruled to be paranoia on our part...

I have to agree that Bass has done an INCREDIBLE job of scanning and assembling the images.
I feel he is correct.
Even the early appearance looks right... especially as Banner suddenly appears to behave out of character, as I would have thought. Yes, I think they are ALL Loki... and that he has aligned himself with either: 1) The Space Phantom or 2) The Skrulls and that we're seeking individuals being "replaced" or imitated. The key will be Stark realizing that HE didn't authorize the building of a plane light years ahead of anything the air force has... and so, the conclusion is that someone is authorizing construction of a ship to take them off the Earth.... hense, the Skrulls or Space Phantom... and I think he's going to solve it. Either that or it will unmask Natasha as working on his behalf, and creating militiary applications in his name without his knowledge. etc.
Personally, I vote for Loki and and alien... but which alien remains in doubt.

After viewing Bass's incredible collection of images, last night after work I went home and sat up late, scanning and re-reading almost all of Ultimates 2 and discovered that I'm missing Ulitmates #1 issue #11. (So pardon me if I missed something important in that one...)
Gee, is my face red after reading the discussion between Thor in the prison cell (the room without doors) and Loki. Guess it had been revealed that it WAS Loki and I missed it.
I'm still interested in who he has teamed up with... I still suspect the Skrulls or the Space Phantom... replacing those that they are impersonating to turn the team inside out....

and the Skrulls for a rhythm section?
No way. I think there's a better chance Loki is the next lead singer for Ultimate Van Halen.
I don't see why Loki would need to team up with anybody. Certainly he can manipulate things enough on his own, I don't see how he would need any help. I also can't imagine him relying on 'foolish mortals' whom he almost certainly would think lack the discipline, insight, or talents to execute his master plan. It just opens up the possibility for someone else to louse up his devious and clever plans. Now he might manipulate some mortals to do his dirty work, but I doubt he would allow them to knowingly assist him. Better to be the unseen puppet master, let the the puppets think they are in control of their own decisions and actions. Loki's goin' solo on this one, I say. Assuming Thor's not mad and there really is a Loki, of course. ;)

Nick Fury is Ultimate Loki.
That's an interesting theory.
How far back would you guess that he has been Loki?
Right from the very start?
Or, has Fury been replaced at some point?
Or, has he occassionally been impersonated?
(How can this be, if we have seen Gunthar G say to Thor that he is his brother and has big plans for this planet....
and we have seen Fury and Gunthar in the same room at the same time?)
Or has Loki been changing his appearance depending on who he is with at the time?

GOOD!!! The Hulk is a great character, but not worth a whole forum!! Plus, his book's lowly sales do not compare to the Ultimate Titles. Looks like Hulk got smashed.

Nick Fury is Ultimate Loki.
No.
But Loki is definitely manipulating him.
With all the tech S.H.I.E.L.D. has, and he goes after Cap based on a video image only? Uhh nuh. First of all, Cap didn't attack the Bartons, secondly, I would think that they would look for some DNA evidence first (and Cap's DNA ought to be rather 'unique', I would think. So Fury is the one puppet central to Loki's manipulations for sure. But I don't think Fury is tied to Loki's hot-water heater in the basement while Loki pretends to be Fury. He's just pullin' the strings and sittin' back with his fave cocktail laughin'. That's how trickster gods operate. They don't do the 'dirty work' and get their hands that dirty...
