They're doing WHAT?!?!

Barry Allen back from the dead as the Flash and Wally dead?!

MOTHERFUCKERS.

Bringing back Hal and sidelining Kyle wasn't enough for you, eh? You've got to bore me and give me the finger even more so? Bah humbug.

You may want to go reread that.

I just saw that in Rich' column. Sorry.

I still won't believe it until I see it, though...

Not Barry, Charles. Bart.

Not Barry, Charles. Bart.

*rechecks*

Oh thank you merciful Grud. Bart becoming Flash makes a lot of sense and continues the whole 'legacy of Flashes' thing. I don't mind Bart becoming it.

My mind saw the "Bar- Allen" bit and misread it in a paranoid frenzy. Whoops. My bad. Sorry.

I don't care if it has a green light, I just don't see this happening. Firstly, Didio has been much too obvious about Flash dying so I'm going to guess this is a huge red herring. Secondly, Bart Allen is too you (even one year later) to be the Flash. Third, Mark Waid writing a Flash where Wally seems dead? Yup, we've never seen that before (I would love to see Waid back on Flash but if we're going to have Wally being seemingly killed off in every story arc, it's clear he really has nothing more to do with the character. Wally will wither not go anywhere or will be back as the Flash in no time at all. Mark my words.

...Actually, now I think on it some more, killing and replacing a Flash during a Crisis again? When you say it out loud, it does seem rather silly.

I like Wally, but I love Bart, so this wouldn't bother me. But it's such a stupid idea to happen now. Everytime a Crisis happens, people are going to go "We're going to need another Flash".

Well, they do wear red shirts.

I'm not a big DC reader... but I'm wondering, does Jay Garrick have any relatives in the modern DCU? If they're going to bring in the relative of an older Flash, it'd be nice to have one related to the original (of course, Bart has a strong history of his own... and was even on Smallville!).

I really hope that they upgrade the Flash-uniform more than upgrading the belt and tweaking the shoes/mask (which half the artists forgot to change). On the other hand, remembering that Flash appears in animation, no radical changes are probaply done.

But I can wish. I found it disapointing that while Flash I>II change was so apparent, II>III was so little, and even that happened like 50 issues after launching.

I know Wally more from the animated show than his comic. I've only read two issues of Flash recently but had to drop it due to prioritizing. If he's anything like he is on the show, then I'd had to see him go. From what I've seen of Bart in Teen Titans, he seems like an ok kid, but I love Wally's sense of humor. He's a kid at heart, and I'd hate to see him go. Hell, I stopped breathing during the last years season finale on JLU. I won't spoil for anyone who's interested that hasn't seen it.

He isin't. Hes pretty standard, "lets beat the bad guys" dude. He dosent crack jokes. The show version is pretty cool, but in this case, nothing like the orginal.

How different are the two Flash costumes from Barry to Wally? I'm just curious because I can't really tell the difference...

Wally's belt is different.

Also, at some points in his career, Wally had white eyes on his mask and a reflective costume.

Wally's lightningbelt does 'V' in the front, while Barrys is like normal belt. Also, Barry's boots are skintight over the feet (hard to explain, not my first language, english isint), while Wally's are somewhat more loose.

The masks cut around the mouth is also somewhat different.

You know, just in early September, I actually met Mark Waid at a comics shop here in Sacramento. And me being a fan of the Flash, I point-blanked asked Mark if he would consider returning to the Flash.

He responded that DC Comics had in fact, asked him to script Geoff Johns' final arc on the Flash. Waid said no to that, but then DC asked if he'd like to return to writing the Flash as new permanent writer after Johns.

Mark said he thought about it for a short time, but came to the conclusion that he'd said everything he had to say with the Flash, and it was best to move on.

So now I'm puzzled. Is Mark Waid really returning to the Flash? Just two months ago?? Obviously, Mark could have lied to me about his returning to the Flash in 2006. but why lie? Why not just hint about it--"You might be interested in our plans in 2006" or something like that. I'm not sure what to make of all of this news.

He may have changed his mind, or been told to change it - neither is really a lie.

I've heard Barry's coming back. That makes more sense than Bart.
I like Bart. But he makes a better Kid Flash than Flash.
Lately I've heard that they may keep Wally now that every one's expecting him to die.
