i wasnt around when the comics were published and was going to get this as the story sounds great and i dont really feel like tracking down the back issues

however, 19.99$? for a tpb thats basically printed on toilet paper?

pass.

guess ill keep an eye out for the issues when im out and about.

I haven't checked the TPB paper quality, but it is 8 issues (two four-issue miniseries). So $19.99 seems reasonable to me. That being said, I found most of those issues in bargain bins over the course of a couple years, so I wouldn't say they're hard to find. And I'd call it about grade C+ Ennis, not great.

There are still so many stories that need to be collected, and they pick these 2 minis??? I guess they figure since Ennis' name is on it, it will sell like hotcakes...so not true.

i like ennis alot, and generally will buy anything he puts out. but im not paying 20 bucks for a book printed on newsprint, even if it is 8 issues instead of 6.

Is it worth $10? Because I never pay full cover price for my comics/TPBs. Got this one for 50%. Have yet to read it though. I had never heard of it, but thought it sounded interesting. But from comments here, looks like it's not that great?

And all standard DC trades are printed on newsprint paper. It's a big gripe I have with DC trades.
At least the DC Showcase books seem to be better newsprint quality than the Marvel Essential books.
