I've already posted this elsewhere but it needs as much support as possible:
You know somethin'? I freakin' hate how every time a thread is started about the Ultimate Universe a bunch of 616 fans have to bust in and bitch about the fact that it differs frim the regular Universe. Of course it does. That was the whole freakin' idea in the first palce. If it's decided that Mysterio will only be used as a minor character in a background shot then that's fine. Just in case you haven't noticed:
The Ultimate Universe isn't meant to mimic the regular universe.
Seriously, I thought that was pretty clear by now. A while back I started a thread in the Q & A section about how awesome it would be if a seperate forum was created for the ultimate universe. My basic motivation for that thread lies in the fact that everytime someone brings up something related to the Ultimate Universe a 616 fan has to contribute their opinion which can basically be summed up inot the following eleven words:
The Ultimate Universe Sucks Because It Differs From The Original One.
So if you think there should be an Ultimate Marvel forum so that we Ultimate fans don't get bashed by 616 fans then please comment on the thread I started. Matt said that if we can show enough support for such a forum then there's a possibility that one would be created.
If you like the Ultimate Universe enough to read it then at least support it.

I'd rather have a FF forum than this to be honest.
The way we've been doing it is fine when it comes to Ultimate titles, there aren't that many anyway.

I've actually championed this idea before, so I still will here as well. And there are more Ultimate titles to discuss than just FF titles, so I wouldn't mind getting an Ultimate forum first.

Thanks Rocketboy. I appreciate your support. We Ultimate fans need it.

My gripe with the Ultimate Universe is that it's too much LIKE the Marvel Universe. It should be trying NEW things and not rehashing old things with a new coat of paint.

I'd support this. The titles of some threads can be pretty confusing when specific lines are not referenced. I guess I should assume 616 unless stated otherwise, but I'm not always in that mindset.

I don't know, you make a pretty reasonable arguement but it would be kind of annoying to me to have to visit yet another board every time i come here. What would we lose if we just merged the Spider-Man/Hulk/Avengers/Marvel boards together? Its not like any of those boards generate that much traffic on their own, it usually takes a few days for a dead topic to even drop off the front page. I'm usually seeing the same few names on any one of those boards, maybe if we broke down the walls between these little isolated communities we'd have a larger pool of people to interact with and possibly promote better discussions......or maybe we'd just fight more, i couldn't say for sure.
also, the X-board could stay seperate though if they wanted, them people sorta scare me.

I say move the FF with the Avengers and pull the Ultimates with the Ultimate forum and leave the Marvel Universe forum for off topic marvel stuff

I remember bringing this exact thing up over a year ago, and basically I got shot down. Seriously, if Hulk has his own forum... what the heck is stopping an Ultimate Forum??

I think I made an actual compelling argument for an Ultimate forum... using only facts.

Not to mention a lovely PowerPoint presentation. Kudos.
I also offered up my support. Personally, I like the idea of CBR being a full-blown democracy. We should get any forum we demand. This wouldn't be another opportunity to ask for a Sports Forum, now would it? :)
And to the people who complain about too many forums, I ask: How lazy are you? For the price of a single mouse-click, we're treated to neat and tidy organization. Imagine if all Marvel related threads went into the same forum... sorting them out would be a nightmare. Stuff would get buried in mere seconds. This way, everything is in its proper place. Easier to use and read.

i think its common sense to have a ''ultimates line'' forum. dont think there is a need for a ff one as there isnt enough post's to support one.
I think a Ultimates forum is a great idea and it could start some interesting discussions.

What's funny is that I can always point to the Hulk forum and say the same thing.
Now I'm not against a Ultimate forum if one was made but I just think it's fine the way it is since it's still under the Marvel forum.

Neat and tidy organization is overated. Haven't you ever seen a science fiction movie? It isolates us and removes us from that which makes us human. Threads tend to be pretty easy to seperate based on its title alone anyway, assuming you have the least idea what their refering to. Picture all the threads from this board the Avengers, Hulk, and Spider-Man board all mixed in together, is it really that hard to tell them apart?
The only reason there's a Hulk board is because Hulk fans are strangely cliqueish and feel unless they get their own board somehow their fandom isn't legitimized. Screw that. Make them come out here and deal with the rest of us if they want to talk about the Hulk. Personally, the only reason i ever visit the Hulk forum or most any other cbr forums, is out of boredom because no one is posting this one, and a lot of other posters probably feel the same way about their board of choice. So why not break down these artificial walls that seperate us. Why is it better to have several smaller stagnating boards over one larger healthy community?

I hate when people %&$#@ and moan that there's a Hulk forum.
There's a Hulk forum because the Hulk fans sucessfully did what you people are trying to do here. They drummed up support and showed the moderators and administrators of this website that there was a demand for one. Let them have it. Why the $%&# do you people care if it's there or not.
The presence of a Hulk forum (or any forum here) does not take up the room needed for a new forum. In no way does it's existence prevent other forums from being started. So why care if it exists. On the other hand the simple existence of a Hulk forum also does not justify the existence of every other concievable forum ("Well if the Hulk has a forum . . . "). You need to prove it.
Personally, I don't care one way or another about an Ultimate forum. I'm content with how things are now, but I wouldn't be opposed to an Ultimate forum. Could be interesting.
But, and I've posted this on the same thread on the x-board, if these "616 fans" care enough to click on the Ultimate thread, read it, and "bitch", what makes you think they don't care enough to click on the Ultimate Forum to do the same? There may be quite a few reasons for an Ultimate forum, but I don't see this as one of them.

Just because it's possible doesn't mean it's better. What advantage does throwing everything together in one big, cluttered mess create?
Ryan - I never once busted on the Hulk forum. I don't care if it's there or not. I'm fine with it. In fact, I think its very existence is evidence that members can enact change through petition. It's a good thing.

"One big, cluttered mess", is i think, something of an exageration, even combined i doubt these boards would produce enough traffic, that we'd have to worry about losing track of anything, so i honestly don't think it would be any easier or harder to navigate other than we could have everything conviently, under a single forum. I'm aware we need some boundries to keep down flame wars and personal attacks and the like, but its been my experience that the more organization we try to impose on these sorts of things, the less fun they tend to be overall.

You mean they actually like moderating? I guess i just always kind of imagined them as being chained to wall, with a computer, in a filthy basement somewhere, and Jonah would give them the option of either recieving food rations or a fresh pee bucket, everytime they banned someone.
but okay, i'll lay off then.

Well, it gives them the power to do stuff like lock this thread down or delete it. Never underestimate the draw of mod power.

sorry, i really wasn't trying to infer an attitude or anything. I've no problem with the mods here, and never meant to imply that i might, given things generally seem to run fairly well, with very little interference as far as i can tell, i would take that to mean they're doing a decent job.

I think there should be an Ultimate Universe forum. It makes sence. Also all these people saying that the UU is the MU just with a different coat of paint they are wrong. Look at how Venom and Carnahe came into creation in the UU and compare it to the MU. Major difference!! The villains are much better to!!!
Look at Mojo. Hes an albino!!! Not some alien dude. Another Major difference. I think all you guys are just looking for some way to complain thats all.

there's nothing to stop 616 fans from complaining on it too. How many times do you see a DC fan post on the Marvel board, and vice versa. I think you're still going to get the "I hate because it's different", or the "I hate because it's the same" kind of posts.
I happen to like both universes, and would support the new forum if created, I just don't know if it would satisfy the complaint.
