DC Mystery Boxes (http://www.newsarama.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=45288)

Have to admit I like these figures (especially the GL scene), but don't know if I dig the "mystery" element to the whole thing.

How do others feel about this? Do you mind not knowing what lies behind door number 1, or are you hesitant?

I don't know what to make of them. I like the Captain Marvel one and maybe the Joker. I don't know that I'd like to buy one with the chance of getting four figures I don't want.

Maybe I'll look for them on eBay after they get released.

The Hal Jordan/Abin Sur one looks real nice.

I don't get the whole "blind box" thing in the US at all. Only the most hardcore collectors and E-bay specualtors are going to buy the things here. The stuff works in Japan and China... well yeah. China's got a billion friggin people and most of them live in the same 5 cities and Japan is the size of Rhode Island with the population of California(purposly exaggerated). Finding someone to trade with is easy. Not to mention that Asian collectors are less likely to be antisocial shut-ins(and again with the exaggeration) :p

Have you heard of a little thing called a CCG? Maybe Heroclix? Collectors buy blind all the time, why should this be any different?

Personally, I just really want that Hal figure. I'm hoping that when these arrive at the local LCS, the owner has them pulled out of the box so there's no chance of buying doubles...
