View Full Version : Avatar Contest for the Week of October 5th
Citrus-Man
10-05-2005, 01:12 PM
Thanks for everyone who voted for me 'n' Flint. We appreciate it and hope you all have fun with the new theme. As an aside, it's a little-known fact that knowing is only one third of the battle. We let this error slide, however, as GI Joe was limited to the science of the '80s.
I've peeked at Huh?'s excellent Avatar Hall of Fame blog (http://cbravatarcontesthalloffame.blogspot.com/), and I didn't see the theme I have in mind. I hope it hasn't been done before, and if it has, well...you're all very strange.
This week's theme is:
FAT GUYS!
You can submit any well-known, obviously overweight male. They can be real or fictional. Heck, they can be from comics. Basically, any recognizable guy who's got more than that "spare tire." It can even be you, if you're large and in charge.
I'm looking for a thread that could sink a ship, people!

So no cheating and repeating, guys!

I have decided to move my Mimi Tachikawa avatar to my profile for a week so I will introduce a new avatar:
HOMER SIMPSON!
He is the Glutenous Maximus, the guy who ate all of Hell's donuts, the guy who brought many to shame.
The avy is from "Homer Goes To College". The scene is where he is filling out a form:
Homer: [writing] "...It was the most I ever threw up, and it changed my life forever."
Bart: You the man, Homer!
Homer: Thanks, boy!
He pastes a photo of him cramming (or vomiting on?) a cake. It's not a good choice, as look:

Well to do a TOTAL 180 from Ms Hatcher, I present Baron Harkonnen. Maybe because it's close to Halloween. He creeped me the hell out in that film. Which was really unwatchable enough.
I'm not sure I can stand him all week, really.
Edit: A record! I couldn't stand him all day. I'm switching to classic Plastic Man sidekick Woozy Winks. READ THE CURRENT SERIES!

I know that Citrus-Man had me in mind when he decided on this theme, but can you really blame him? He had the opportunity to shower with my "more-to-love" bod for several years in the early 90's. And there's 30 pounds more of me now. Of course, there's about 70 pounds more of him.
A couple times a month someone will think they're clever and ask me when I'm due, and I always have the same answer: 1997.
So here's me and my LWA, when she was about 8 months pregnant with our first son. She doesn't really mind the picture because her size wasn't due to a steady diet of Hostess products and inactivity.

Verse 1):

Well, I'm a stuff my face to a funky beat!
(Kool Rock Ski): We're gonna walk inside, and guess what's up:
Put some food in my plate, and some Coke in my cup
(Prince Markie D): Give me some chicken, franks, and fries
And you can pass me a lettuce. I'm a pass it by
(Kool Rock Ski): So keep shoveling, (Ha!) onto my plate
Give me some sweets and lots of cake
(Prince Markie D): Give me some hot Macaroni and Cheese!
(Human Beat Box): Give me, some more food PLEASE!!!!
(Kool Rock Ski): Give me some baloney, salami, and ham
Toast with butter and strawberry jam
(Prince Markie D): I love it whether the food is cold or hot
Put a burger on the plate, and it'll hit the spot
(Kool Rock Ski): We'll eat everything. An incredible feat

Did I miss something?
Yesterday, out of nowhere and in response to nothing, you said
For some reason, not to many people like this contest.
(Actually, it's been a pretty successful week for the avatar contest if you ask me.)
Then a few people jumped the gun and voted early, and you said
I'm tied between Donald M., Dennis K, & Valmore.
I hope someone votes for me, cause tommorrow, I'm going back to the Mimi avatar.[quote]
Seven minutes later, you said
[quote]Quitting the Contest
I'm going back to the Mimi avatar right now. I'm out of the contest then.
StoneGold cracked a joke about your habit of voting early, and you went off on him, leading into a discussion of ritalin. Then people went back to voting. Within fifteen minutes, you declared
I'm out!
I'm out of the contest.
Well, I never thought of joining any contest anyway.
One less person to vote on.
That led to a discussion of who your avatar is and various people's opinions of Digimon. That conversation petered out yesterday evening, and people went back to voting.
TEN HOURS LATER, again out of nowhere and apropos of nothing, you again announce that you're not in the contest:
You all can bicker on and on about me. But remember these words:
I'm not into contests and I don't like participating. But I am into voting and causing a small stir in things.
Two minutes later, you're voting in the contest.
So unless you're getting a lot of hostile PMs or your participation in the avatar contest is under discussion somewhere else, I don't frigging get it.
(A) Nobody is "bickering on and on" about you.
(B) If you're not into contests, why do you vote multiple times and days before the deadline?
(C) How many times do you think you have to quit? Three? Four?
(D) If you quit the contest, why bother voting?
(E) I don't know if you've noticed, but "causing a small stir in things" is not the best way to win friends. Nobody needs the drama.
Please, make up your mind. In or out. If you're in, play by the rules. If you're out, be out. Whatever you choose, just please chill the heck out already.

I think you (and others) are going a bit far in comparing J Dog to mwm and iWarrior. By a longshot.
At the end of the day, J wants to be a part of the community and is trying to figure out what the boundaries are.
mwm knew what the boundaries were and did not care, whereas iwarrior was mentally incapable of understandign what a boundry was.

I know it's technically Wednesday, but I don't see the vote count in and I don't count the day being over until I've go to sleep. So I'm putting in my vote for StoneGold's Chris Farley because it cracks me up everytime I see it. :)

And now I can ditch Jabba. That way I can once again post sex stuff without Rin getting squicked out... or, at least no more squicked than usual by my posts.

I think there should be a Nobel Prize for perviliciousness.
Let's face it, most people would pay a lot more attention to that than they do who won the Nobel in Economics.

My condolences.
You guys robbed the 2000 election! If Gore won, we would not be in this mess!I'm going to respond to this as if you're being serious.
In short: Gore lost his own homestate and Bill Clinton's homestate...decisively. Gore ran a lame campaign with no clear message and didn't even capitalize on Bush's horrible record in Texas. He didn't call for a full state recount in Florida and didn't call for any investigation into the alleged fraud and voter intimidation there and nor did any Democratic Senator. The Supreme Court stopped the recount and voted in Bush themselves. And finally, 8 times as many registered Democrats voted for Bush than for Nader; in Florida alone, Nader got 97,000 votes from voters of all kinds. Bush got 250,000 votes from registered FL Democrats.
How about instead of looking for other people to blame, you accept responsibility for a shitty campaign and look for ways to fix it next time? Or how about repairing an election system that even ALLOWS a spoiler effect? How about yelling at those Democrats who voted for Bush? How about not talking about voters like you own their support and their vote and work on trying to earn it?
