I've been getting Otherworld and have really enjoyed it. I'm confused because I thought it was supposed to be a 12 issue series and issue 7 came out without the little "7 or 12" on the cover. At the end of the book it said "End of part 1". Is there going to be a break in production??? Does anyone know what's going on with the remainder of this great story???

The writer/artist was offered something having to do with Infinite Crisis (maybe drawing it?) after he'd already started Otherworld. I'm sure someone on here has more details but yes, Otherworld is on hold until the IC work is finished.

Yeah, I had the same shock; knowing that Otherworld was supposed to be 12 issues, then finding out that 7 was billed as the "last" issue. Jimenez says that he is taking an indefinite hiatus from Otherworld, so that he can work on other projects, apparently Infinite Crisis.

Really poor planning on DC's part if you ask me!

heh, yeah, roger that mate. Of course, Vertigo once again is forced to take a backseat to the needs of the DCU

Maybe. But I don't think Otherworld was selling that well, either, so the decision may well have been mutual. DC may have said, "we'll finish publishing the series even if sales don't pick up...but you'll have to make pretty superhero comics for us first."

Hmm... not selling well. My LCS must not be keeping very many copies around. DC put out a news brief about Otherworld going to part 2 early next year. This was several months ago.

Here is a link to Jiminez take on it.
