Hi,
I just had a bad experience with www.mailordercomics.com. They don't get back to you in a timely manner, my check was cashed over a week ago and yet my online account with them still does not reflect that and my ordered comics are now in the "outstanding" pages and still not shipped to me. So I will either get my money back or I'm screwed!
I would like to do an informal poll here to see who recommends what company as a great way to order one's monthly fill of comic books with fast service, great discounts and all that other good stuff.
Thanks much!
Richard ;-)~

I've been quite pleased with mailordercomics. I get my comics shipped monthly and they've always been here right at the beginning of the month (just got my September order yesterday, in fact).
I have to ask...you say your check went through last week. Items billed last week would have been November preorders unless they were reorders or back issues, which might take a little longer to ship.
Hope you can get everything sorted out, in any event.

As far as other services, the only thing I know of that's comparable is DCBS (http://www.dcbservice.com/). Similar discounts and so forth. I know a few people on the boards use them. I haven't used them myself, but I've never heard anything negative.

I use an online shop called scifigenre.com. They have huge selection, excellent service and quick shipping, and a pretty good discount if you're ordering a large number of titles. Plus, they have services like title groups, which allows you to select, say, Superman, and get all of the Superman related titles automatically shipped to you without having to go back and make sure you've added Supergirl or the latest mini to your sub list. The drawback is that the discount isn't very high if you're not subscribed to enough titles.
I'm not affiliated, by the way, just a very happy customer.

I used to use Comics NOW (http://www.comicsnow.com/).
They are very flexible in terms of how you want to order. They have a 30-35% discount across the board with a number of 50% discounts each month. And they have back-issue ordering too.
Emails are responsive, usually by the next day.
Shipping costs are per issue, though, and bagging and boarding each issue is extra. But shipments come well packaged.
I left them when I gone exclusively to trades.

For anyone based in the UK, I would highly recommend Midlands Comics - www.midlandscomics.co.uk
They are fast, friendly and look after there customers very well (I wanted some back issues that they didn't have in stock, and they got hold of them for me at a great price, and sent a load of freebies too!!).
They bag and board everything (a rarity over here in England) and their discounted subscription service is really easy to use. They even let me start a subscription to OMAC Project from #1 (with discounts), even though #3 was already out :D
