*ahem* Samurai: Heaven & Earth #5?
Ron Marz

Soon! I promise! It's scripted, penciled and lettered. We're just waiting on color, so we can put to bed both issue #5 and the trade paperback. As soon as I get a ship date -- I doubt we'll make October, so November seems more likely -- I'll post it.
My sincere apologies for things having taken this long. Between Luke getting sick and then having to start Jonah Hex sooner than expected, me moving three times in the last seven months, and Jason's scheduling conflicts, it seems like we've been thwarted at every turn. No excuse, though, and I'm sorry.
Next time we'll make sure we're far ahead of the curve, so we can get the issues out on a monthly basis. Wait ... did I say next time?

Those sound like very good reasons for a book being late. The fact that virtually all of the books in your career ran on time allows you a grace period as far as I’m concerned. It looks like you’re out of Florida which is a good thing given the weather that state been having over the past couple of years. I realize you have to be mum on any details regarding Samurai’s future beyond issue six but are there going to be any bonuses in the trade when it’s released?

Actually, issue #5 is the finale for this first series.
As for the trade, yup, I INSISTED on extra pages, so we could have some additional material. We'll be including the four-page online "prequel" story, a sketchbook with Luke's character designs, unused cover, sketches, layouts, etc., and a gallery with pin-ups by ... well, a bunch of my friends whose arms I twisted: Greg Land, Jim Starlin, Lee Moder, Adriana Melo, Rafael Kayanan, Keu Cha, Dub and Pierre-Andre Dery, Cully Hamner and a few others.

Come on, Jim, show me the love! You gotta buy the trade, too!
Maybe I'll have Jason Keith come by and post a couple of the pin-ups, to whet your appetite.

I think the prequel would probably be the biggest selling point for me. We'll see once the storyline finishes. ;)

Do what I do. If there a trade paperback I really want give away my old issues to one my friends that missed out on the book. This way you save drawer space and create an extra fan for Ron and Luke which there can never be enough of as far as I’m concerned.

Never mind. A post that appeared to be funny after a sixteen hour work day now looks to be inappropriate. Sorry.

I don't have a firm in-store date for the trade yet. We're still waiting on a couple of pin-ups to straggle in -- I'm lookin' at you, Big Red! -- and some other odds and ends to be put to bed.

The trade won't be out Oct. 26, I can tell you that. Just waiting on the last pages of color for issue #5 from Jason. And, of course, now Hurricane Wilma is bearing down on Florida's west coast, where Jason lives. This mini seems to be cursed that way.
Again, my apologies, and my thanks for everyone's patience and understanding. It definitely won't happen on amny future Samurai projects.
On the plus side, Cully Hamner and Keu Cha finished their pin-ups for the TPB. Nice...

Man, I didn't wan to say it, but yeah, it sure looks a @#%$#...but I am keeping the faith.
And prayers for Jason.
