You can't be implying that "Tenth Muse" and "The Blackbeard Legacy" are pornographic, can you? I mean, they have clothes, and don't show those horrid pieces of the human body that, however practical, are evil!

No, they aren't, but the models used for the covers are well known for their nudity and scantily claddedness. Not sure if that applies though, because they were just used as models for the characters, so I'm not sure how valid Rich's argument is. Of course noone's EVER sure how valid ANY of Rich's arguments are. He is, after all, a rumor columnist. :)

Yeah, I think Rich is associating that the models used for the covers are known for their nude and what some would consider pornigraphic work. Yet here you have artists being singled out because they are also involved with nude works, though this time with men and homosexuality. Now I haven't visited the site, so I don't know how explicit is it, but it doesn't sound that bad. I relaly don't know why they can't also do kids books. Robert Rodriguez does kids movie and hard R / NC-17 films.

At the same time, I understand the company's worries. If some nutso Christian group finds out of that one of the artists of a kids comic also works on gay nudes for a website, there could be quite a problem. Though I would like to see the compnay instead back their artist and support their artists, treating their work as separate entities both apropriate for their audiences.

oooh?! I initially didn't check the links and assumed that his argument was primarily that at least Tenth Muse is a tits and ass book (90s Image style) so it's a bit hypocritical for the publishers to be complaining about an artist doing erotic stuff unrelated to the work they publish when they themselves sell books based on suggestive images.

Funny that nobody ever had a problem with Shel "The Giving Tree" Silverstein doing cartoons for Playboy or writing naughty songs like "Freakin' at the Freaker's Ball."

Maybe people need to unclench a little, and I say this as a right-leaning Christian.
