Joe Queseda when asked about Vaughan's "The Hood" and the possibilities for a sequel, Quesada said that they would love to do a sequel, but that Vaughan's current schedule would not allow it. Quesada also said "five or six different projects" are being discussed for Vaughan in the Ultimate Universe after he finishes his run on "Ultimate X-Men." So what do you think are the Ultimate projects being discussed with Brian K Vaughan, and others? What would you guys like to see? Feel free to post other writers & artists you'd like to see on the books.
The books I believe Marvel's considering.
Ultimate Fantastic Four- Putting Brian K Vaughan on this once Millar leaves the book will give Vaughan plenty of time to come up with crazed concepts, used his talents on a book about young heroes, ensure that a capable writer is following Millar, and prevent the Ultimate line from being overexposed. There are also plenty of Ultimate F4 stories to tell, be it an arc which positions Doctor Doom as the premier Ultimate villain, the introduction of Ultimate Black Panther, and follow-ups to the Ultimate Galactus trilogy. Ideal artist would include Alan Davis, and Pascual Ferry.
Ultimate Captain America- Brian K Vaughan's abilities to write espionage stories, political drama, and young male protagonists could make for an excellent Captain America mini-series. This could also provide lead time between Ultimates 2, and Ultimates 3, as allegedly Jeph Loeb doesn't even know who lives or dies. Ideal artists would include Alan Davis, or Lee Weeks.
Ultimate Wolverine- Marvel could go the easy way out, and just have a Wolverine solo story. This could allow Vaughan to tie up loose ends from his Ultimate X-Men run (such as whatever happened to Lady Deathstrike) but it would strike me as an un-necessary book. Ideal artists would include Lee Weeks, Jae Lee, and Stuart Immomen.
Ultimate Magneto- An Ultimate Magneto mini-series would be a great idea to tie into the upcoming movie, while giving the readers a bit of the history of the Ultimate universe, and a fascinating character. Who's the mother of Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch? What happened to her? What events shaped Magneto? The Ultimate MAgneto is certainly one character who has not been overexposed in the Ultimate Universe. Ideal artists would include Alan Davis, and Jae Lee.
Ultimate Daredevil- He's had a few Ultimate books before, although those were more about Elektra. This could show the subtle differences between the 616 Daredevil & Ult Daredevil, and kick-ass scenes with Bullseye, and the Hand. But it may be an un-necessary book if the Ultimate Daredevil's just the same as the "real" DD. The book would suit Vaughan's talents though. Ideal artists would include Lee Weeks, and Jae Lee.
Ultimate Doctor Strange-
This would be a stretch given how unsuccessful the regular Doctor Strange stories are, but it could also be a medium for Vaughan's craziest ideas. Ideal artists include Alan Davis, Pascual Ferry, Mike Allred, and Jae Lee, hell maybe all 4 with each artist drawing a different issue (See Books of Magic where that actually works).
Ultimate Venom- The Ultimate Venom's been in only one storyline, but he's played a massive role in the video game, and he'll play a big role in Spider-Man 3. I could see the use for a mini-series showing what Venom's been up to since Ultimate Spider-Man #39. It'd be kind of hard to find an enemy for Venom, and I really don't want Marvel to make the mistake of having the Ultimate Venom doing heroic deeds. Ideal artists would include Jae Lee, and Lee Weeks.
Ultimate Thor- Can't forget this nut. The only problem with this book would be that it may steal some of the thunder from Thor's 2006 return. The Ideal artists include Walt Simonson. That's it-just Walt Simonson.
