I know Morlun is playing a part in "The Other" storyline, but I thought he died in JMS's first arc.

A comic book character coming back from the dead? Yes, you're right, that doesn't sound very probable.

ANYWAY... I read in a JMS interview that Morlun had never been defeated by Peter. I thought he had been (with help from Dex). If someone has any helpful answers I would be much obliged. Did I miss another appearance by Morlun or something? Just curious.

Didn't Ezekiel help but only fend him off for now?

I think Morlun was one of the first creatures on the earth. And at the point of his death, he was regressing through different stages of life on earth, we saw him with a reptilian look at his supposed death. He could have regressed further do something else. But then again, government officals came at the end, and they could be tied in to his rebirth. or a third alternative is that he wasn't the only one of his species here on earth.

I still don't quite get why Marvel puts it that way. Peter did defeat Morlun using the radioactive serum he injected into himself with Dex killing him.
Perhaps they mean it in a non-physical way and he exists in a un-corporeal form while using totemic forces as a physical anchor to earth.

I think they mean that Peter never beat him by himself, or even slowed him down, really. That doesn't sound so bad until you consider that Pete's managed to stop the Juggernaut for at least a while in the past.

Yeah, but Spidey really lucked out against Jugs. If those exact same conditions could've been lined up during his fight against Morlun, he might've won then, too. Of course, after breaking out, Morlun would've gone right after Spidey again anyway.

I'm kinda iffy about Morlun's return as well. I know death doesn't mean much, but didn't we see this guy like melt away?
