Will this be another Samuel Jackson film ?

And can Eugene Levy play " Iron Fist ? "

Actually, assuming this isn't all BS (it is an early IMDB listing after all), after what Singleton did with Four Brothers, this has a damn good chance of being good.

Jamie Foxx, actually.

Where did you hear that? And if they've cast Iron Fist, who are they casting as Luke?

Wikipedia. It's not the best source, I know. I should've mentioned that.

Well, Wiki says Jamie Foxx, but we can't be certain.

Uuugghh. Let's hope not. I'd prefer it if they cast someone who can actually act.

Don't tell me you didn't like him in Ray. Cause if you didn't, that's just wrong.

I'm not big on the overly sentimental cheese movies.

He does a great Ray Charles impersonation. But he can't act for shit.

Oh, I thought you were talking about who they were casting as Iron Fist.

I wouldn't mind him, but on the condition that he bulks up for the role. I mean, if Will Smith can do it for Ali, Jamie can do it here.

I'd still prefer Michael Clarke Duncan. Or maybe they don't want to cast him, with him being the Kingpin and all.

Or maybe they don't want Luke Cage talking like a robot.

But I just can't see Jamie Foxx as Luke Cage.

Wesley Snipes, however... if he wasn't already so recognizable as Blade...

It's Luke Cage. You don't have to act. You just have to be able to be a badass.

And truth is, if Singleton could get Marky Mark to believeably play the John Wayne role...

Am I the only one who thought that Walberg didn't exactly fit the role in Four Brothers?

Before the movie started, sure. But I think he pulled the role off.

Damn, you know who would be perfect for the role if he was just a few shades darker? Rocky.

I'm telling you....the team of Jackson and Levy would propel this to direct to video magic! I can see Levy dyin his hair blond to do it.

Going with that I'll pick Michael Jai White. Dude seems to be big enough.

I'll go with Jason Statham as Iron Fist.

Whoever plays Luke will have to be doubly badass to pull of that yellow shirt and tiara. :D

Does anyone honestly think Iron Fist is going to be in this? The character's got a mythology that could not only fill a movie of its own, but is so thematically different from Cage's that it'd be like sticking Hannibal Lecter and a Jackie Chan character in the same movie.

It'd work, if they wanted to make the movie into a super-awesomely bombastic mix of blacksploitation and kung fu. But let's face it, while a Heroes for Hire movie has the potential to be awesome, it has a lot more potential to be f'd up. Just doing Cage by itself might not be quite as cool, but there's a lot less potential for f-up.

i don't see fox as cage either, but i'm sure singleton will do it justice.though i think he originally wanted tyrese for the role.

"The Alpha Male" Monty Brown can play Cage , he has the body and size for it.
"Sweet Christmas , that's it , you are now going ....to feel .....the pounce" ;)

He's certainly better than some other names I've heard like Tyrese or Tyson Beckford.

I DO like The Rock or Michael Jai White though.

*Cage Update* (http://www.iesb.net/upcomingfilm/010806.php)

Tyrese Gibson has already met with Marvel head Avi Arad and is very excited and committed to this project. They are currently waiting for a second draft of the Luke Cage script and things will move from there.

It's cool that things are in motion, but I still wish it was a Heroes for Hire flick instead of a Cage solo. I'd like to see Danny in it regardless, but I guess Marvel is dead set on an Iron Fist solo film as well.

Ray Park has been trying to make an Iron Fist movie for years. With him as Danny Rand.

To bad it seems to be in limbo, Park could have made it work.

Tyrese actually has acting talent unlike most rappers-turned-actors. He was great in Baby Boy.

He's done several movies since then, too, so he has some experience now.

George:

Chestnut would be great.

Not if he acted the same way he did in 'Ballistic'.

Perhaps Ballistic is what killed it.

In Hollywood you're only as good as your last project.

Yeah, I can see Foxx playing a Cage-style villain pretty good. Not enough bass in the voice to play the man himself, but the dude seems custom tailored to play a hustler-type blaxploitation villain.

That'd be Evan Parke. Good choice. I liked him in L.A. Dragnet. He was also Francie's fiance on Alias. Dude is big and imposing.
