Dan DiDio, Bob Wayne, and Greg Rucka were present in a packed panel room at WizardWorld Boston this afternoon to discuss the buildup to "Infinite Crisis" and the fallout that will occur afterwards.

Lots of interesting yet repeated info:
Another fan asked if "Infinite Crisis" was going to destroy the current continuity and replace it with a new baseline. DiDio immediately responded that "Infinite Crisis" was "not another baseline attempt." Rucka emphasized this point, saying that, "We like our continutity."
One thing DiDio did point out is that as a result of "Infinite Crisis," the incongruities in continuity since "Crisis on Infinite Earths" would be resolved by the new series. Rucka went further and stated that "Infinite Crisis" was, in fact, a sequel to "Crisis on Infinite Earths," "in the same sense that 'The Two Jakes' is a sequel to 'Chinatown,'" said Rucka.
As many expected they are using continuity blips on purpose.
Oh, I didn't even realize WWBoston was going on this weekend.
And I'm glad there were people at DC who disagreed with Rucka's opinion of Wonder Woman. I know I do.

I'm curious as to what he meant about Green Lantern, and all the characters that disappear in Infinite crisis.

A short while later, when someone asked where Wally West would be found a year from now, the answer was simply, "In back issues."
True or not, that was pretty funny. :)

Yeah, didn't you hear? The real secret behind Infinite Crisis is that it all takes place in the Marvel Universe. :)

I heard that they're changing the sex of Black Canary to male; I hope it's a new character, but then-again, other than Shvaughn Erin of the 5-year LoSH, no super has yet gender-bended.
I wonder how Green Arrow, Wildcat, and The Ray will react?

Both DiDio and Rucka encouraged people in the crowd to post completely fabricated stories on the Internet in order to build controversy. In particular, Rucka seemed intent on starting a rumor that as a result of "Infinite Crisis," Black Canary would become a man. How this would affect her relationship with Oliver Queen was left up in the air.
i don't think black canary is going to become a man.

Yeah, this has been going around on all of the message boards. It's about time they took a female character and replace him with a male. As long as s/he gets to keep the fish nets, I could care less either way.
I wonder how Green Arrow, Wildcat, and The Ray will react?
Who cares what they think? I bet Black Canary being a man will totally turn the Babs-Dick-Kory love triangle upside down! Who will end up with who? It could be great!

IMO, The Two Jakes holds up pretty well. It's certainly not the equal of its predecessor, but it's not a bad movie by any stretch.
Now, if he'd used Caddyshack II as an analogy, I'd be worried.

I think the "Chinatown/Jakes" analogy meant more along the lines of "same character, completely different story".
