I'm probably a little late in noticing this, but I'm reading "A History of Violence" at the moment (and it's fantastic, by the way).

And there's an image, on page 227 (in the edition I have) of the old NY skyline. I won't go into further detail, but it's pretty freaky if you ask me!

Anyone else notice this? If you've got a copy, go have a look and you'll see what I mean. And bear in mind, this book was published back in 97.

Cue Twilight Zone music...

Ok, I've scanned in the image:

I'm sure I'm not the only person to think this is pretty freaky?

Maybe it's old news, but I haven't seen anyone mention it before.

Funny how totally innocuous images take on a whole new meaning when viewed from a certain context.

Not really "freaked out". It's a coincedence. I believe in coincedences.

I think it's interesting. In fact I'm going to send your image to another site and see if it gets posted. Crediting you of course.

no it's not they so knew!

If only people took comics more seriously then 9/11 may never have happened.

It's planes and the WTC.

Deal with it.

Or should they have photoshopped the book to remove the towers in case it offended anybody?

Why do some people get so ridiculous and defensive for no reason?

The guy just said it's a freaky image, and it definitely is from a particular perspective. He didn't say he was offended, or that the image was a warning. He wasn't complaining or bitching, he was just pointing out a freaky coincidence. And it is.

Deal with it.

Some people act like such bitter children sometimes.

edit: Heh...even more freaky when you read the text.

I've gotta read this. I was excited about it before, but saw the movie a couple of days ago and was pleasantly suprised.

I'll definitely look out for that WTC image.
