How many people miss Tangled Web? I have been reading the trades and some of the stories are really great. I absolutely love the Brian Azzarello Crusher Hogan story. What a terrific ending and a terrific story about the unpredictability of life.

Sure there were some clunkers but this series was such a wonderful way to explore the peripheral lives that are affected by Spidey. I would much rather have this series back than the adjectiveless Spider-Man series.

The Crusher Hogan story rocked! The guy who wrote it knew his wrestling pretty well.

I bought the full run a few weeks back but have yet to get through it... I'm reading the Jenkins Peter Parker run first.

The Thousand was the best Spidey story ever! I wish they'd put HIM in the movie! Or if he (or rather "it") turned out to be The Other... ;)

I didn't get this when it was coming out, but the few issues I have I have enjoyed. I hope to someday read all the issues (and hopefully find them in the 50 cent bins like I did the ones I have).

How many volumes of this was there? I got the first three trades at a major discount, which I can't understand, because they were all really good. Even the clunkers, like Way's story (you can't kill the freaking SPOT) weren't that bad.

And yeah, Azzarello and Raven's "The Last Shoot" was quite good. That last page gives me chills... if only Peter knew what he was responsible for there.

One more trade. There were 22 issues.

I only have about 7 issues of the series but they were good. The one I remember is the story of Flowers for Rhino which was weird. He got super intelligent.

It was a drop due to cost over quality. About the time I was going to readd it to my pull, it was cancelled.

I need to reread it. The only issues that stick out are the Azzarello/Risso story and the Cooke/J. Bone issue (issues?).

Someone on Jinxworld mentioned that it'd be cool to relaunch a Tangled Web type book to ship on the off-weeks for Amazing, which would be cool.

He should. Scott "Raven" Levy co-wrote it.

It was generally a good anthology. It had some misfires (notably Paul Pope's issue, though the worst you could say about is that it read like the first part of a longer story) bur produced some truly excellent material (the final issue about prosecutors dealing with "the Spider-Man defense," the J Jonah Jameson spotlight, the Darwyn Cooke Valentines Day issue, and Rucka/ Risso's tale of the man who failed the Kingpin.) The majority of the rest was still good (the smart Rhino two-parter, the three-parter with Garth Ennis creating a nasty new Spider-Man villain, "The Gentleman's Arrangement, Cooke's Christmas issue, Kaare Andrew's tale of Spider-Man from the POV of children, the Typeface issue, the and likely one or two stories I just don't remember.)

It's a series that's well worth hunting down in dollar bins.

I'd rather have it than marvel Knights Spider-man.

Marvel knight Spider-man had everything to be a good comic, if it stayed and followed Millar´s conception.

Tangled web had good arcs and stand alone stories (gentlemen´s ray of light and the collaborator) and not so good (call of the wild, heartbreaker and the system) but it was an original tittle and deserved a decent run, but it got axed as too many Spidey´s comics during Quesada´s era.

I loved some stories, especially this with the Kingpin and the one with the "supervillain bar".

My fav story of Spider-Man's Tangled Web is in #11. The story is called Open All Night. In this story Peter has two dates (accidentially booked both at the same time) at the Coffee Bean at 8 PM but he's out fighting the Vulture, gets knocked out by an explosion that Vultchy setup and is super late for his dates. Both girls end up getting really peeved. The story is written by Darwyn Cooke, one of my favorite comic artists/writers.

It´s my favourite too. We can see how well ellaborated was, words and pictures fit together and during Peter´s young years both as man and crime -figther. Darwin is a great storyteller, it´s said he haven´t worked for Marvel in a while.

I also like T´was the fight before christmas( #21), also by Darwin and another excellent story. Not to mention last page.
