This isn't the official site for the show, but any fan reaction or comments at all will help point me in the right direction when I pitch this to television studios in years to come.

I bet I know what happens between Peter and Uncle Ben!

In all seriousness though, I appreciate the obvious work you put into that.

Wow!
You've put a lot of work into this...
but I have to ask if this is something you seriously want to pitch or is it just some fun for you and your friends?

If it is for fun, then I'd recommend you reformat it to proper script cause it reads a whole lot easy that way.

If you want to pitch it, then I'd recommend you refocus this energy into characters that are completely original. Cause I don't care how good this is, you're not going to get marvel to talk to you, let alone pitch on their behalf, without a serious track record as a producer. (and no network is going to accept a pitch by producers that don't have the rights to the project)

I'm interested in your stuff, so my comments are meant to be helpful (of course, you'd probably be smart to just nevermind me and continue on) without my

Well, thank you for your support.

And actually, it is formated on the site. I don't know how many people actually have Microsoft Word- I use Microsoft Word script edit which is a specialized program for formating screenplays and teleplays. I also have it under two other formats (fanfiction link & copy and paste) to make it easier for those that can't access the formated version. I agree, formated is easier to read. Reason it is broken up into two parts is because the documents are too large to "manage attachments" the whole thing.

I am serious about this. I am going to film school next year, my first year of college- I'm a Sr. right now. I started working on it last christmas, I think this series really has a shot. I am going to build myself up first before I begin to pitch the idea around. I have a clear vision of where this show will go and can go, and I think that's a plus side. I'm learning what works and doesn't work. The characters and drama, similar to SMALLVILLE is the main importance of the show. The arcs gradually evolve to come out with the final chapter I already have planned. Similar to Spontz on Night Stalker, I have this whole thing planned out already, even the ending and what it will take to get to the ending.

One of the films that I want to work on and try to get started low budget wise Catcher in the Rye. I love the story that the character goes through in that, as well as the distinctive narrative, and pyschology of the character. I know how to adapt it and think/ hope that the film will be my first big break. Something that I can enter into film festivals and the such. So, I am going to work hard to establish myself in the business. I am interested in all genres, already have my name in the credits of a small film entering film festivals this year and next year is college. So, with the usual "make it big by 30" myth around Hollywood, my chances are looking very good.

MARVEL and studios have actually shown an increase in want for these shows. Such as Punisher and Blade. I'm betting once the Spidey movies are done and a couple of years after the saga is complete they'll start thinking this route. I will have had time to somewhat establish myself and I can start going to them with ideas.

As I said, I'm going to pour my heart and soul into my early projects. I'm lucky that my father is rich and wants to see me succeed, meaning he will help me through budgets and such.

If I am not able to attain CIR rights, I have a couple of other projects up my sleeve.

But, yeah. Spider-Man: The Series, as far as I'm concerned is a definite in my future. I'm going to get myself established, the fan support for this show in only two weeks out of the total 22 planned for season 1 has been phenomenal- so, I have that to show them. That there is an audience out there for this show and I'm going to do whatever is within my power to bring it to the audience. But, that's in the future.... next week SWARM.

When you aim high, you really aim high! From what I understand, getting J.D. Salinger to option his books is...well....lets just say he hasn't done it yet. And I've read about 2 different producers that actually started filming versions of his work without his permission and now that work can not be shown.

Getting back to Spidey, I would like to add two follow up suggestions.
1) don't fully create that series. IF (and I gotta tell you that is a HUGE if) some one expresses interest in making it, you have to make sure there is room for their input. The reason you hear about stuff like "Network Executive X suggested we do this" is because the networks (rightly or wrongly) want to be creatively involved. Think of it this way, if you were helping on another project, wouldn't you want to have at least some input?

2) have at least another 5 projects in the works, at different levels of development. If you concentrate everything on one, your odds of getting anything sold is minimized.

You best bet is to find a producer and beg them to let you shadow them for a few weeks.

best of luck with th project.

I'm going to college next year. I'm still a sr. in high school. Didn't know that about Salinger, I'm more of a director guy than a writer- so, I'd be still looking for stories along the same line. A young guy growing up and the experiences he faces in life, some of my favorite films are Life as a House, House of D, Dead Poets Society and White Squall. So, those are the films that I want to be associated with. A story of a boy growing into a man. Why Spider-Man then? The early part of Spider-Man, really is this story of growth and maturity. Responsibility is a journey.

This is the Gwen Stacy story, is pretty much how I like to explain it. There are open spaces, since it's a long story. The overall story is in there, but with all series you have spaces in between and the way you go about those certain arcs. As an aspiring director I look for people's insights and what they might work or not work, because one person can not know everything. So, a person's input is more than a necessity to me.

Also, another thing is- Spiderman is the key to the Marvel Universe! Thus, think of how many cameos the series could use to it's potential. Whereas SMALLVILLE found that out later, I recognized that early due to their run (pun not intended). So, expect to see cameos and maybe supporting characters for a season run (such as Daredevil, an important factor in Spidey's life. And for DD fans, if this works how- expect Stick and the Man without Fear story line for the origin).

Also, with film schools come internship programs in which you do "shadow" in a sense.

Also, you do realize how difficult five projects at once is right? Especially for someone that will be just starting out, the goal is to make one at a time. And make that one GREAT, and then come out with another that is GREAT. Not, mediocre, mediocre, medioce, alright, good because you worked on five projects at the same time, right?

Yes I do, I'm an editor that is starting to move into the world of producing. All I meant was that you need to have several projects at various stages at any given moment (Including just random notes on some paper) The reason being, then you're ready to take advantage of more opportunities. (One producer I spoke to actually said have 10 projects minimum.)
Once you get a project to a stage that it is actaully being made, obviously the others get put on hold

I've watched far too many people focus on a project for months and not have it go anywhere. Then they are too drained/attached to it, to move on. As a result, a lot of talented people aren't making anything. And your passion shows through in your work LOUD AND CLEAR, so I'd hate to see you end up one of those people. We need more like you in the industry (If for no other reason then to hire me :D )

Good luck in school, and with all your projects

If you mean stages in that sense, then each month I have a minimum of three things (ranging from fanfics to originals) and around five to ten projects at certain stages. I thought you meant, 1 writing, 2 pre production, 3 production, 4 post production, 5 release. Because I think if I did that I would start to have gray hairs (unless you run a television series and the episodes are short, than obviously can handle alot more).

This is a christmas special episode that I decided to write. In a way it is also a parody of some of the themes that run throughout a Marvel Comics Christmas edition- so not everything is to be taken seriously.

Great question, and trust me it will be adressed in the series very soon.

The Series is back. There are going to be alot of cool themes this time around. Shocker comes back, the introduction of Spidey-sense and even the Fantastic Four arrive in New York! The second part of the season is filled with great episodes, I believe. The best so far.
