New Avengers Question

Ok, I just finished the last part of the Sentry arc in New Avengers (it's the only arc I've read) and I have a question.

At the end of the issue, Reed Richards asked Tony about SHIELD and what happened in the Savage Land, and Tony said it was nothing they needed to know.

So I ask, what did happen in the Savage Land, and why would Stark not want to share with the assembled "round table" members?

Because either SHIELD is up to something screwy or there's something screwy going on INSIDE SHIELD and the Avengers are trying to figure it out without letting on that they know as much as they do.

Um, I'm fuzzy on the details at the moment, but seemingly a rogue hit squad inside SHIELD led by the "new Black Widow" was involved in the big prison break that got this group together. Apparantly, Brain Child and the Savage Land Mutates hired Electro to bust Sauron out of jail...a SHIELD jail filled with a bunch of villains that had supposedly died or disappeared. SHIELD was also using Savage Land slave labor in some operation in the Savage Land, but I don't recall if we ever found out what EXACTLY they were doing.

Damn, my memory really IS fuzzy on this one, now that I try to lay it all out.

So, why wouldn't tony share the information that he has... after all, that's why they formed this little grouping to be a clearing house of what's going on.

Is this the first example of secrets being held back? Or is Tony being mind-controlled? :(

I tend to agree with you, the point was that the New Avenges are going to play this very close to their chest until they figure out what's going on.... ;)
