I didn't see a thread for this so I figured I'd start one.

Did anybody pick this up on DVD yesterday?

I thought it was pretty standard Family Guy stuff. I heard this was just three episodes made after the cancellation of the show but before the renewal that were just edited together to sort of resemble a movie. Don't know if that's true or not, but it makes sense. Because structurally, as a film, this falls flat on it's face. It's all over the place. The bookends feel especially forced (and not funny).

There are a couple good bits in the movie but I only laughed hard maybe two or three times. There's at least 20 regular Family Guy episodes that had more laughs than this in an hour and a half.

I watched the uncensored audio track which was kind of dissapointing too. After all I'd heard them pumping this bonus feature up I thought it would be something special but as far as I could tell they just say the f-word 5 or 6 times without beeping it. No big deal.

I'll get around to watching the commentary later this week. The other Family Guy commentaries have been pretty funny so that should be good.

Anybody else get this, have any opinions?

My nephew brought this over to show me. I liked it and laughed pretty much the whole way through. I was very, very stoned at the time, though, so take that with a grain of salt.

It was a long episode for the most part, which isn't that bad.

Better than most of the new eps, in fact.

Love Stewie. LOVE him.

Just bought it. You can tell they were gonna kick off the new season with these shows. But I'm thinking Fox told McFarlane to go with something less pushin the envelope. So he redid this into a movie and hell...it works for the most part.

Family Guy is just brillant as usual. Its like FG has became a brand now and its wild seeing ads for toys , games and DVD's in the book they had with the movie.
