Um...not really. Young Avengers #7 was originally solicited for August--so it is one month late, because #6 was one month late. (This is why they skipped soliciting an issue for December).
Anyway, I am really looking forward to this issue! DiVito is doing a great fill-in job with the art for those pages.

i relaly dont like divitos previous work, but these pages look great
these first few pages COMPLETELY contradict what bandis had written in new avengers. in new avangers spidey classified electro as one of "his" anmd luke cage basically said "not anymore we are a group" or somthing like that, and in here is completely opposite

Well, it's coming out a reasonable time after Young Avengers, so I ain't complaining about this one.

Oh, I'm not complaining either! Sure, they skipped a month, but the book is back on a regular monthly schedule, which is good enough for me! :)

Anyone knows if Jessica Drew will appear in the issue?
I could've sworn Dermie had already told me whether she is in or not, but I am totally blanking out on this...

Maybe they're referencing that earlier conversation.

That art isn't as exciting and energetic as Cheung's, but that certainly won't stop me from picking this up.

I'll be glad when Cheung's back. His art just feels right for the title.

Wasn't me--I told you about her being in New T-Bolts.
Its possible she'll be in the issue...but I doubt it. But when the YA start officially training with the New Avengers she will undoubtedly appear at some point.

Not exactly. Spidey said that the breakout was his fault, because Electro was one of "his" villains. Luke said that it was only his fault in his own messed-up head. Luke didn't say anything about Electro not being one of Spidey's personal villains anymore--he said the breakout wasn't Spidey's fault.

Okay- so apparently Eli is getting his powers from Super soldier serum, I think- but if he was injecting himself with Calvin Zabo's formula, wouldn't he become hyde?

Except in this case, he is Bucky. Literally. Hell, if titles were more coordinated, it would have made sense for the Winter Soldier to go after Patriot. I can really understand why they didn't, it's too early to be messing with Patriot in that kind of storyline, but it would have been logical.

Who, Patriot? That would be a big "no". The only things they have in common is a patriotic outfit and being younger.

Oh, I think a big reason behind that is (mark my words) that Winter Soldier's NOT Bucky. They're just yankin' your chain.

You didn't read the book, did you? Patriot's original costume was Bucky's with a bigger mask. So not that big a no.

Sure, if by "was" you mean "had a vague resemblence to".

In #1 though, Jonah and Jessica were talking about it as more than a vague resemblance--they were talking about it definately being a Bucky costume. You're right that they aren't actually an exact match--but the book made it sound like they were.

Y'know, at the time, I remember thinking "What the hell are they talking about? That's not a Bucky costume!".

Oh, I got that that's what they wanted me to think, but I wouldn't expect people on a super-hero beat to be saying it like it was identical to Bucky's. It shares a few design elements, to be sure, and it's certainly a Bucky costume in that it's NOT a Capt. America costume (which was the point of the conversation), but it's still not a Bucky costume. Certainly not in the "literal" sense Stonegold claimed for it.

Yeah, it's not literally a Bucky costume, but that is definitely where it's rooted, as far as design elements--which is what I think was being referenced when it was called a "Bucky" costume. Glad we agree. ;)

Oh, yes, I certainly DO agree that it's a Bucky-inspired costume, it was only the weird wording in that scene that made me have an initial reaction.

Another reason for Eli not to be called Bucky is the fact that he's black; if you remember, when John Walker replaced Cap and Lemar Hoskins was his partner, he was orginally called Bucky. When Mark Gruenwald realised - after some complaints - that that was a derogatory term in some parts of the US, he changed Lemar's codename to Battlestar.
Its unlikely that Marvel would do that again.

Buck. He was called Buck. As in "big black buck". I've never heard of Bucky being a derogatory name for blacks. Is it?

No, he was called "Bucky", but it got changed because "buck" is an offensive term for blacks, and buck/bucky are pretty close. This was discussed on-panel in one of the issues.
