Ya know how some comic books aren't just comics, they're graphic novels? I'm part of a collective making a film which is a motion picture version of a graphic novel. It's more like a three minute short story with a musical score (instrumental, like a regular movie, not a Top 40 style song). No acting or spoken lines for the characters, just compelling imagery, the way a graphic novel can tell a story over a few pages even without words.

We are a small collective of talented people working on this: a DP, that's me; a producer, a film editor, a camera operator, a sound engineer, a wardrobe designer, an art director, a writer, and some grips (crew people who set up and tear down the equipment, etc). The subjects for the film we're currently doing are some cute local actresses (everybody is located here in Hollywood or the surrounding area). We're all working on it just to make it happen, to see the final product come to fruition, and have fun being a part of it. It's a joint art project, nobody is paying us.

We're looking for someone who wants to join us and draw some storyboards on this project, and maybe future ones. You don't have to have experience storyboarding, just be able to draw decently. They won't need to be really polished illustrations, just nice (unless you feel like doing the extra work).

We'll have a webpage up in a little while for the project. When we're done shooting we will have the film on the site, with a cast and crew list and pics, production stills, and a comparison between the storyboards and actual frames from the film, which should be pretty neat. The film will be viewable online at other places including Triggerstreet, iFilm, Atomfilms, The Shot List, and so on. It will also be submitted to a whole bunch of film festivals.

If you want to participate, please send samples (or links to samples) to c_keosababian@yahoo.com

Thanks!
