Possible spoiler If you haven't taken two hours out of your life to beat the game. (If your a spidy or venom fan BUY IT! If not rent it! Either way you'll get your money's worth)
Ultimate Spider-Man's (game) story is supposidly cannon, the makers of the game, and Bendis have all said the game will tie in with the comics and have a lasting effect on the series. The Game took a big step in molding the new and improved venom, and it seems he is now a main char of spidy's world. How will the series handle this? Will they make a small series describing the events that took place in the game (It would be a damn good series as long as they took out some scenes)? Hell I even heard rumors of a small ultimate venom series. Anyone got any idea???

G4 TV ( I normally don't watch that channel much anymore) had an Interesting Documentary on the new spiderman Game. They Interviewed Stan and bendes, along with some people from activision, and the Makers of the game.
The way the panels come to life Really impressed me to be honest. I've got my copy reserved on Gamefly, But I need to send some other games back to them first. Heh, IF you guys haven't used It before, I strongly suggest It. I picked up Hulk Engine of destruction for around $37.00.
anyway, the game Looks to be very addictive, and I for one am looking forward To It. Just the fact that they had Marvel in the story process shows that they cared about continuity a great deal. I believe they said It was 3 months after Spidey saw Venom last, But I won't swear to It.

It was 3 months after.
If there is an Ultimate Venom mini, that would interest me and I would like to see how that plays out. Still, my only complaint is the game is too short, but I do have tons of fun swinging around New York and beating up the Yancy Street Gang.
Also, seeing a certain charcacter again got me interested in reading a couple of back issues ;)

It's out there, Charagon, don't give up. I had only seen the DS version too until today at Best Buy. I ended up getting the gamecube version instead of the xbox - not that anyone (should) care(s).

Well the game doesn't follow Ultimate Carnage's continuity because in the game Peter becomes Carnage after being injected with some of Venom's living suit or whatever.

Wasn't Carnage the Venom suit combined with Peter's DNA or something? Sounds about right to me.

Noo...Carnage was the result of Conner's experiments on Pete's DNA. i don't believe Venom was involved, but I could be wrong.

How about we just forget about the Carnage that we saw in the books and go with one that sounds good?

If you play the game, which Bendis said fits into the book's continuity, the sample of blood Conner took

had traces of the suit still bonded to his DNA. It was discovered that Spidey never really got rid of the suit. A lot of it was still bonded to his DNA. This was the reason Venom kept saying "the suit needs you" in the arc. Eddie's suit wanted to bond to the one still within Pete and become "whole". In the game, the remains of the Venom suit within Pete's blood expell itself and turn Peter into Carnage. The suit takes over and Peter has no idea or memory of this mutation. In the end, Venom is able to devour the rest of Pete's suit within himself and become "whole", complete with the white spider symbol and the ability to better control the suit. Since the events of the game take place three months after the Venom arc, the blood sample Conner has would have had minute traces of the Venom suit as part of Pete's DNA. It all fits.

One thing I never understood was.........
Pete steals the bottle of V.E.N.O.M., and the goo from the bottle on which he steals (and dumps down a big chimney furnace) is what bonds to his DNA and gets his spider-powers. Eddie Brock had a *backup* bottle of V.E.N.O.M. in a completely seperate part of the lab.
Now, Eddie's backup bottle never interacted with Peter's DNA. How the hell is it Eddie now looks like Spider-Man (sorta) and has a few of his powers?
Plot hole.

Isn't it connected?

The only way it could be connected is telepathically. And I don't buy that, since the suit is not sentient.

All I know is that the game shoulda been longer than like 4 hours.

It is (At least semi-)sentient though. That’s why Peter started acting more violent.

Not really much of a plot hole, Venom never acts much like Spider-Man in the arc, he's just a big black blob. He only gets the Spider-motif in the game, apparently, aftter absorbing some of the Venom stuff from Pete's DNA.

No plot holes. Eddie does little more than act like a giant monstrous Vampire in the arc. In the game he consumes the V.E.N.O.M that is merged with Pete's DNA, that Peter THOUGHT the lightning had dissolved off of him way back in the Venom arc. In fact, it never dissolved off of Peter. It had just gone dormant within Peter's DNA. Consuming Pete's now DNA mutated V.E.N.O.M. makes Eddie's suit complete and gaining some of the properties of Peter's suit, such as the spider symbol. Whatever was left in the vial Peter destroyed in the smoke stack was totally seperate from what was already within Peter by that time.
You have to beat the game to get the whole story and supposedly Silver Sable and Ultimate Beetle will be appearing in the comics soon as if the events in the game count, so I guess it was a good marketing strategy both for the game and the comic.

A question... once you've completed the game can you choose to freeroam as Venom or Spider-Man or are you forever stuck as Spider-Man?
I wish this was out for the PSP... I'd love to be able to swing round the city as Spider-Man on the move.

Yes, as brian2322 said, you can switch between Spider-man and Venom whenever you want when you beat the game.

Is it like the olg spiderman games for PS where you can pick from like a whole bunck of different costumes and powers after beating the game or collecting some stuff?

It's more like the Hulk game, where you have to earn unlockables, altho you automaticly get Venom in the 616 costume once you beat the game.

The only good alternate costume is the black one. The rest suck. I liked the Spider-Man game that had like every single costume, even the bag one.

Me too. I have it for PC and I enjoy just playing some easy levels with different costumes. Captain Universe Spidey, go!
