So this weekend we're having Barbeque on the River (http://www.bbqontheriver.org/). A three day BBQ, music and craft fest. mmmmmmmm
A while ago we had the first ever River's Edge Film Festival (http://www.riversedgefilmfestival.com/). Fun and enlightening.
We are also known as Quilt City USA and have the Official National Quilt Museum (http://www.quiltmuseum.org/) here and have an international quilt show every year. (Yea, that last one's crap but it's our biggest one.)
So what home town festivals do you have where you are?

A little thing called The Tournament of Roses (http://www.tournamentofroses.com/).
Also a little thing called The Rose Bowl (http://www.rosebowlstadium.com/).
For those who don't care for sports (like me), there's The Doo Dah Parade (http://www.pasadenadoodahparade.com/). I marched in it three times. It rocks.
Old Pasadena Jazz Fest (http://www.omegaevents.com/oldpasadena/)
Saint Anthony's Greek Festival (http://www.hellenicfestival.org/)
Pasadena Summer Fest (http://www.delmanoprod.com/smfst05temp/)
Lots of other stuff.

I don't know about Joisy, but last week was the 28th Annual "Shalom Pelham Parkway".
They had some good vendors. Got Suzannah some earings and a necklace, and got Tot's birthday present in advance - a Hello Kitty Necklace. It's well hidden.
The food was a dissapointment. They only hire this one place, Main Event. Main Event used to always have two tables - one for Pizza and dairy stuff, the other a Grill. Last year they even had fresh Cotton Candy and Popcorn.
This year they just had the grill, and good G-d was it over-priced.
The music was beyond bad. It was better last year and I though it would be better. Alternative Jewish band Pey Dalid was slated to play, but I left before then. My brother's brother-in-law (his wife's sister's husband) is a musician and had a table there. He ended up doing an impromtu show which i left before as well. Pity. I hear he's good.
The lowest point musically was the guy with the thick Russian accent playing "New York, New York". On an accordian.
There should be a law.
Tot loved it though. They had a Shofer making booth. Wooooo.

The Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival. (http://www.fsaf.org/index2.htm) It's a good time. An opportunity to try out all kinds of music and art styles.
