The conclusion to Crossover is a lot of fun. Ben, Johnny, and a very kick-ass Sue battle to contain the zombie FF in the Ultimate reality, while Reed and Magneto and friends attempt to find a way back to the teleportation device with almost the whole Zombified Marvel Universe standing between the and their goal.

There wasn't a whole lot of plot here, but it was kind of a thrill to see so many Marvel heroes gone gruesome. We see everyone from Zombie Brother Voodoo to Zombie Shang-Chi. Land looks like he had a lot of fun drawing all the undead heroes.

The issue ends with an interesting development, as Sue and Johnny's long-long mother appears.

sue and johnny's mother didn't seem that long to me. definitely not long-long.

it was a good wrap-up for a mediocre story. it staved off being dropped for at least one more arc.
8/10

It could definitely happen if you just add an ol' Fing Fang to the start.

I liked this storyarc a lot. A lot of it may have to do with the switcheroo they played with the advertising. Land's art was phemnomenal. I could have looked at the zombie splash pages forever.

Wonder what they going to do with the zombie F4 now that they have them trapped in their reality. Can't send them back , where to hold them away from spreading their viruses to others ?

I picked up #1 yesterday in the new release section at my CS, was that a re-print?

Was it maybe Ultimate FF Annual #1? The one that had Ultimate Crystal on the cover and the Inhumans inside?

I liked it - This FF had no trouble really taking out the bad FF. Sue squishing Zombie Reed's brain was ok as was Johnny frying the zombies.

It was interesting that the Inhumans really did get affected by him in the Annual though.

Ben knocked out Zombie Hulk - neat and Magneto became a hero.

I do wonder about the zombie FF - they have them trapped and gassed them. Wonder what they do when they get up. It would make sense to drop them all in a tank of acid or something else evil to get rid of the germs.

Can zombie Thor use his hammer to get out of that dimension and we don't know who started the plague. There was an implication of some entity behind it.

didn't zombie sentry start it? and he's probably already off somewhere in another reality starting the zombification all over again.

I haven't gotten my mail sub yet. How did Sue squish Z-Reed's brain? He's all about the squishies already? Did they explain it?

I didn't fully get that myself. Maybe she inserted some sort of field into his skull?

So, Ultimate Thing one-punches zombie Hulk.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think 616 Thing is capable of one-punching 616 Hulk, and zombie Hulk appears to be equivalent to 616 Hulk. Does this mean that Ultimate Thing is much, much stronger than his 616 counterpart?

Could be that when you start to rot a tad, your powers weaken?

It could be, although we don't know for certain. Zombie Sentry busted through dimensions, which is pretty impressive.

There's precedent for Ultimate Thing being stronger, though. Ultimate Colossus might be stronger than his regular counterpart, for example. I guess we'll never know. :D

Millar wanted him to be a zombie Superman - there's a neat photoshop where someone edited the colours of his hair and costume to get the desired effect.

Great issue, but what really caught my eye was the letter page. A time travel arc starting on issue #27? Sweet maybe we'll see Kang.

Maybe that will be the real crossover and we'll see Iron Lad.

ahhh, but where you see a bad joke, Robert Kirkman sees a veritable creative goldmine. Hence the Marvel Zombies spin-off series from Mr. Kirkman that was recently announced.

Whatever happened to the Franklin Richards which is nowhere to be found in this arc since he was shown with alternate reed when they communicated with the ultimate reed ? The zombie 4 ate him ?

Generally the Ultimate characters are weaker than their 616 counterparts.

The exceptions are Colossus,Captain America and The Thing;they all had strength upgrades.

I figured it was a Saturn 9 type trick.

Ultimate Fantastic Four is the best Marvel Comic out there these days! Just six months ago I was thinking the FF was the most boring super group ever and was wondering how anyone could make them seem interesting.

Leave it to Mark Millar! I love how he's made Sue use her powers as she never has before--the ability to make things invisible is a HUGE asset but she almost never uses it.

Somebody should tell Sue that that remark she made about exploding a "synapse" in Reed's brain made her look like a real dummy. Exploding one synapse wouldn't have made anybody even blink an eye, the poor thing.

Even with a strength upgrade, Ultimate Thing couldn't one-punch standard Hulk. Hulk shrugs off blows from the best of the best.

No, the zombie heroes were weaker. How else can you explain a rag-tag band of kids who still haven't mastered their powers, are able to overcome ALL the other superheroes from a near-standard marvel universe? You can't. In reality, they would have been Ultimate Fantastic Fertilizer within seconds. Even Magneto would not be able to stave off the entire world's worth of heroes and villains. No, the zombies were much, much weaker.

I liked the arc, even if it felt REALLY rushed at the end. I really liked how Magneto sacrificed himself to save the world. I was sort of hoping they'd let Magneto come with them, and he lived out his days as a regular Joe with a new identity. But, him sacrificing himself works just as well.

This might have been said before but I just picked this issue up and I wondered if the people that came survived and are now in the Ult U will meet thier counterparts too. Even if they are just normal people it would be wierd to walk down the street in a whole new universe and see yourself walking in front of you, creepy.
