Man I was disappointed by this crap. They teased us for months with the idea of Ultimate Marvel meeting 616 Marvel, but all we get is a world full of zombie heroes? YAY! And now they're making a mini-series based on that world called "Marvel Zombies?" *Sigh* Marvel keeps doing stuff like this, they'll go bankrupt again.

I'm actually enjoying it and am glad they didn't do what was expected.

Same here. The zombified heroes are the creepiest damn things I've ever seen in a comic book, and I'd be glad to see a mini-series based on them.

Ditto for me on both counts.

Although I do agree with jadegiant77 that a spin-off mini based on the zombies from this arc seems a bit much. But with the phrase "Marvel Zombie" having been in use since the '70's, is a certain that the mini is based on the zombie world from "Crossover"? I haven't seen the solicitation for it yet.

Personally, I thought it was a great twist in the tradition of M. Night (okay, maybe that's a bit much ....:D )

The moment where Ult. Reed materializes in that universe and the evil FF are waiting for him was pure horrific delight. Of course, I love creepy horror-movie stuff like that, and I think Greg Land's art was nothing less than incredible. Millar's pacing for this story has been perfect, tying up a good Ult. story in, not 6 or 7 issues, but 3 issues! Yeah, good stuff.

There's no way I would have even given this a second look if it was just a straightforward crossover with the 616 Marvel U.

I still find it funny that people actually thought the regular marvel universe and the Ultimate universe were going to cross over. I knew there would be some horrific twist to it from day one.

Marvel Zombies is gonna be pure horror fun, written by Robert Kirkman, a guy who knows his way around zombie stories.

This kind of weird creativity is the same sorta stuff that Marvel did in 2001 to oull themselves OUT of bankrupcy, not the unoriginal traditionalistic crap that pulled them INTO it in the 90's.

Kirkman's writing a zombie book for Marvel?

Le sigh.

*Adds yet another book to his ever-growing pull list*

Heh, further proof that you can't please everyone.

Man keep 616 and Ultimate the hell away from each other. Each are unique and wonderful in their own way so it's all good.

Ouch. Does it get more insulting for a writer than to compare them to M. Night Shamalan?

This is the first I've heard of Marvel Zombies. Man, I love that phrase. And Kirkman's writing it? Maybe we'll get an Marvel Team-Up with Michonne now. That'd be sweet.

Put me in the camp that is digging this. The last pages of issues #21 & 22 are classics.

"Ever get the feeling you've been had?" (we all were, face it)...

and

"Not exactly."

-- Remember the Hertz commercials where they kept repeating that catchphrase? It took me a day or two to remember from what company put those ads out. Now, the phrase "Not exactly." has a funner meaning for me and is more indelibly etched in my mind... I have visions of the same commercials... "Did you rent from Hertz?"... "Not exactly."..."Hey, isn't that the Fantastic Four?"..."Not exactly."...creepy. Love it.

I think that it was a really good story and I for one am glad that they two universes didn't meet... just yet

Actually, I think they did exactly the right thing. There is no way that they should *EVER* have any crossover with the 616 universe at all and I was really dreading it, but it turned out to be something completely different. Marvel Zombie World was pretty cool.

I just hope they don't keep going there. Once is enough for me.

I don't know about never, but the problem with it is (and they touched on this a bit in UFF) that while it's a huge big deal for the UM, for the regular MU, it's Tuesday. Meeting alternate dimensional counterparts of themselves happens on a bi-weekly occurance.

Hell Reed sets up multiversal conferance calls with his counterparts.

Never, ever, ever, ever. The Ultimate universe should never, under any circumstances, ever crossover with any other universe. It's like crossing Supreme Power with the 616 universe. It just shouldn't happen and it would damage the universe if it did. These are designed to be SEPARATE, it should remain SEPARATE.
