So looking forward to that Young Avengers special. Most of these others do nothing for me. You expect me to believe that Nick Fury would assemble a team of MONSTERS??? No wonder why he's not running SHIELD anymore. Marvel Zombies? Ah, no. (What's next, a Johnny DC/ DC Bullet book?) How the hell did New Warriors make it past five issues?

Gonna pass on the What Ifs. They sound pretty lame, and I was burned once before by those lame-o ones Bendis did.Thor as a herald of Galactus? When the hell could that have ever happened?

Why the hell ANYONE would still care about the Black Cat mini is beyond me...Issue three came out what, last year?

hopefully we'll have covers tomorrow or thursday. i'm surprised they aren't out yet, they usually come sometime between the 15th to 20th of every month, and a day or 2 after dc's (which came out yesterday). i'm really psyched for a lot of the stuff on here. especially that she-hulk 100. young avengers special is also looking good.

CAPTAIN AMERICA & THE FALCON: SECRET EMPIRE TPB
Written by STEVE ENGLEHART & MIKE FRIEDRICH
Penciled by SAL BUSCEMA

The Secret Empire was rarely more secretive or empirical than in this classic arc that sets Cap against a conspiracy out to frame and replace him in the American mind! And pay CLOSE attention to the man behind the curtain (or mask, as the case may be)! Corruption and cover-ups conclude with Cap quitting the Avengers, paving the way for his days as Nomad! With Nick Fury, the Black Panther and Banshee! Guest-starring the X-Men (back before it was cool) and featuring an early re-telling of Cap’s origin! Collects CAPTAIN AMERICA AND THE FALCON #169-176.

That's an interesting choice. Here's what Englehart himself had to say about those issues:

"So I had asked myself "Who is Captain America?", and had found an answer for the man. Thing was, America was moving from the overarching Vietnam War toward the specific crimes of Watergate.
I was writing a man who believed in America's highest ideals at a time when America's President was a crook. I could not ignore that. And so, in the Marvel Universe, which so closely resembled our own, Cap followed a criminal conspiracy into the White House and saw the President commit suicide.

And that was the end of Captain America..."

Must haves (or already pullin') in red.
Thinkin' about and will at least look at are in green.
Longshots, but ya never know... in blue.

OFFICIAL HANDBOOK OF THE ULTIMATE MARVEL UNIVERSE: THE ULTIMATES & X-MEN 2005 - Fan of Ultimates and UFF. So I gotta look...
ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR #26 - Until further notice, just assume I am buying this book as long as Millar & Land are doing this. Been buying this from the start. It might have to get pretty bad to lose me.
ULTIMATE X-MEN / FANTASTIC FOUR - Written by Mike Carey? He wrote the UFF 'Think Tank' arc, which I loved... and I don't exactly love Jae Lee's style. Not an X-Fan, but I doubt that will stop me here.
FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN #3
MARVEL KNIGHTS SPIDER-MAN #21
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #527 - I love JMS' Spidey. I will be buying 'The Other' storyline.
SPIDER-GIRL #93 - I'm riding this one to #100 and beyond! Hell, let's go for 200 issues! :)
MARVEL KNIGHTS 4 #25 - THE RESSURECTION OF NICHOLAS SCRATCH Part 1 (of 3) - This would have to brutal for me to pass up, though I kind of pick and choose my MK4 books. My first FF book was the first Salem Seven appearance, and so there is a soft spot in my heart for this heartless, sick and twisted warlock. Almost a 'must have', very likely a 'will have'.
MARVEL ZOMBIES #1 (of 5) - I gotta take a peek at least, I might even bite.
BOOKS OF DOOM #2 (of 6) - I will consider this, cuz' I love what 'Bru do' wit Cap... which brings me to...
CAPTAIN AMERICA #14 - "Winter Soldier" conclusion? Must have.
FANTASTIC FOUR SPECIAL - I will at least gander at this one.
IRON MAN: THE INEVITABLE #1 (of 6) - Looks to be excellent. It's about time we had a decent solo book for Tony. I gotta have #1, and likely all six based on what I have seen or read about this.
NEW AVENGERS #14 - I must be Frank. Jessica could be the Chosen one...
NEW AVENGERS: MOST WANTED FILES - Could have some nice background stuff for this New Avengers fan...
NEW THUNDERBOLTS #16 - This book is currently one of my pulls, but near the 'bottom' of my list... meaning the New Avengers slugfest could make or break this for me. So, if it's still on my pulls in December, well...then it it will be NEW THUNDERBOLTS #16 and onward...
THE SENTRY #4 (of 8) - If I start this series, I'll likely ride it out. Ask me again after I see #1. ;)
THOR: BLOOD OATH #5 & 6 (of 6) - Interesting creative team, so much like Sentry, depends on if I get in on the 'ground floor'.
SPIDER-WOMAN: ORIGIN #1 (of 6) - Ya gotta at least look at what Bendis can do with his 'so-called' favorite girl on this!
SHE-HULK #3 - Not a big Slott guy so far. But I'm not so close minded as to let that stop me from lookin' at it. I think he has a better chance of winning me over on...
THING #2 - If we never see the GLA (and especially any annoying little marsupials), the odds improve I'll like it. ;)
WHAT IF: FANTASTIC FOUR - Premise sounds corny (yes, corny)... but Mike Carey (see Ult-X-Men/Fantastic Four)? It's got a chance.
WHAT IF: THOR - Now this What If? sounds a little better on premise. Having Kirkman & Oeming on this also hedges the bet that I'll buy.
YOUNG AVENGERS SPECIAL #1 - I can't see this being anything but damn good.
SUPREME POWER:HYPERION #4 (of 5) - Love JMS's Spidey as I mentioned before... and that's where he seems to get ripped the most 'round here. Most commentary about Supreme Powers has been pretty positive, so I was already considering looking at his work on that book. Dan Jurgens doesn't hurt, either. So, if I pick up #1 and dig it, I'll likely keep on diggin' this mini.

-- Could be an expensive month (by my standards) at the ol' store this December... ;)
