As I prepare to read the seventh volume tomorrow night, I've been going back over our conversations about the series so far. It's been invaluable to me to keeping everything straight and in gaining a greater appreciation for the work. Thanks to all who've participated so far.
And if you want to do the same, here's the cheat sheet:

Hello all! I thought I'd continue this. I have a friend who has been making his way through the wonderful world of Blade, so that inspired me to put this together. Plus, there is a NEW volume coming out soon, so I thought this could help us refresh our memories. Here they are:

I was wondering what had happened to this book club. Wasn't it going to move on to Promethea next? (Much as I wanted Planetes)

That was the plan, and I think I voted for Planeted I think too, but steam kinda died on this. I'm sure we could resurrect it if the interest returns.
Whadda think?

I'm still up for it. Despite my constant lurking, my actual posting time is pretty limited these days, but I am more than willing to make the effort. Heck, if Jamie starts it, I'll even post on volume 15 of BotI.
EM, who picked Promethea but would still be willing to try Planetes

Ok. I'll start something up after the LONG weekend. I'll give at least a week's notice too. Maybe I'll wait on the BotI until vol.16's ship date gets closer. We'll see.

I'll probably be up for it with Promethea if it happens once I've got book 5 - which will happen when I manage to get it cheap enough on eBay. (I rarely buy my books new)
Planetes I've already got so I'd be up for that straight away

Ok....
I think I'll post up Vol 15 when we are getting closer to vol 16. Maybe the week that is supposed to ship. I know we voted on Promethea a while ago so we can either go w/ that or since it's been a while we can vote again. I just snagged Q&C vol's 1-6 for $35 shipped, so I'd be down for that.
Any opinions?

Whadda think? 11/2 or 11/9 for Promethea Vol. 1?

Ah, why didn't I see htis before my other post? :p
I say 11/2. If we wait, we risk letting it get forgotten for another year(?). Besides, it's not like people can't post after 11/2.

I'm still up for BOI, though I may not get around to posting for awhile. Too many articles and columns to write ahead of it!

Personally I'd say the 9th because I probably won't have time to read it myself by Thursday. Do we want to give the BOtI people time to chatch up on thair one first though?

In this week's shopping thread, Trusty (whose real name I don't know yet), expressed an interest in a book club. So for all the (relative) newcomers, here is our first attempt at a book club.
Maybe now this will be inspiration to get back to Promethea. :D

In case anyone is of a mind to continue, I thought I'd try to figure out which issues the newest trades contain:
Vol. 15: Trickster (Issues # 99-105)
Vol. 16: Shortcut (Issues # 106-111)
And due in June, 2007:
Vol. 17: On the Perfection of Anatomy (Presumably Issues # 112-117)
Beyond that, The Sparrow Net was only four issues, followed by the current 5 part Barefoot, so Vol. 18 might be nicely sized at 9 issues.
I read this series in single issues as they come out, so if anyone happens to start a topic for a new volume (or edits or revists one of the old ones), consider including which issues it contains (as noted on the copyright page), so those like myself can follow along better.

I don't know if any of you caught this, but I just read the whole thing:
A Fond Farewell to the Monthly Edition of Blade of the Immortal

I guess the issues of BotI won't be made anymore soon, and it'll just go straight to tpb. I agree with most, but not all of what this guy has to say.

My only thought there is that I'm surprised the monthly survived so long. Don't get me wrong - They're good books, but they are so much better suited to TPBs
