WOO-HOO! The Secret Society of Second Stringers RIIIIIIDES AGAAAAIINNNN!
Or at the very least, the room does. This is the replacement for the old SOI (State of Insanity) "goog" room. It'll be interesting to see who uses it, as the URL gets passed around.

What is "The Secret Society of Second Stringers"? Does this go all the way back to the old boards?

You betchya!
Wayyy, wayyy back in 1996 when the Kingdom Come Message Boards launched, a bunch of crazy kids with too much time on their hands while wandering around this "internet" thing started writing equally crazy stories.
This first group dubbed themselves "The Pantheon", as parody as much as anything else.
Not long after other groups sprang up. The JSTF, or "J Street Task Force" was the first group specifically named to take place in the fictional setting of J Street, created in the Pantheon stories. We've got the Fallen Angels, the Kinky Space Pirates, and the SSoSS: "Secret Society of Second Stringers!"
Except for Moderator AzAngel's "Fallen Angels (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=60331), most of the above groups haven't written much at all in the last couple of years. Joe Grendel, he who came up with the initial concept of "J Street" (which was instantly turned inside out and mucked about with to great hilarity by the rest of us), is currently writing a solo Pantheon story Pantheon Summer Special 2005: The Scorpion and the Frog (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=57252) .

...because it's important for a culture, ANY culture, to preserve its history.
I hadn't tried to access the SOI or goog room since I got my new computer and lost the bookmark. I wish I'd been there for you.

Actually, it's not a solo Pantheon story (there's a climactic Hatman-written chapter coming up), it's just worked out that way. If people want to pitch in and write about the worst day in J Street's history (it'll be obvious, trust me), they should feel free.

Ahhhh... this feels more like home. I missed you guys! I missed the old stories... all the fuzzies and fuzziballs... er I just said fuzzy balls.
Anyway, I hope this encourages us all to write like we used to. I have 4 classes this semester and a part time job, so I don't know how much I could put it, but I will give it all I can.
Great to see you all again!
