This is Chill, of the Urban Warriors, quite an interesting guy. Above you can see his powers, and name. He is the most reserved member of the UW clan. He is very laidback, but makes himself known on the battlefield. He's also quiet, but deadly, and is trained in various forms of martial arts as well. Orion usually doesn't say much, but when he does you know it's of the highest importance.....

This is Rayne. She's a superhero in the city of the Urban Warriors. She's part of the UW network. She operates solo, but she used to be part of another team until her fiancee dies fighting one of the major villians from the Lion's Pride. She constantly remembers him, and he is her daily inspiration. When the series gets underway, he (Fyre is his name) would've been dead for almost 3 years. Her story is dealing with his death, and moving on with her life. Rayne's powers are emotional weather manipulation(she really has no control over it), superstrength, lighting strikes, and flight.

Some more characters from my Urban Warriors series...these are the solo heroes of various cities who connect with the UW...this was an older pic, so some of the costumes have changed.
The dude in green is the cocky, superspeedster: Hype.
The mystical ebony warrior is Onyx.
The girl in the hood floating is Harvest.
There's Rain(Rayne Alexander), who I've already mentioned
And the big dudes are twin brothers who used to be pro wrestlers and now are superheroes: Rip(Cory Alexander) N' Roar(Orlando Alexander). Rip has seismic abilities/superstrength, and Roar coverts sounds into energy, sonic screams as well as superstrength. They are also Rayne's cousins.

Juice(her teamates named her that, she just goes by JJ) is Janice Jardin who is the no-nonsense, firecracker, dynamic brains of the operations. She can change into and weild cosmic energies.

Midas is Solomon King, the wise-co-leader, philosopher of the team. He has the power to covert himself and anything he touches into a gold like substance. WHen he converts himself, he has enhanced strength.

Chill-is Orion K. Jones, the quiet foundation (cryogenic manipulator, short range telepath and teleporter)

Styles ;)-Shawn Jardin, III(Tre) -JJ's stepbrother, and has three abilites: change his body into a mist, create an unstoppable enhancing strength forcefield, and able to shrink down to microscopic size if necessary. Only one ability at a time though.

Heat is Olivia Brown. Track star who can manipulate all forms of thermal energy(pyrokinetic), is a telekinetic, and short range telepath. She'll make you sweat.

BanditX-Randall James, highschool football player who after an injury recieves mysterious powers due to "surgery". He has enhanced strength, and can shoot a powerful optic beam from his right eye. (And he's a big comics fan, hence his chosen nickname) :cool:

New pic of my character Harvest. Harvest is also known as Karen Michaels, fashion designer. She discovers that she can suddenly hear and see things that are yet to be, she's able to instanteously transport herself anywhere she wants to be, she also finds out that she is telepathic and can "harvest" spiritual energies and use them. Harvest yearns to know where these powers came from, and just what do all these visions involving these teens and young adults with superpowers mean? Who are these Urban Warriors, and what role do they play in the coming of.....? ;)

Probably my favorite Urban Warrior....Solomon King aka Midas. Brief bio:Solomon has the power to covert his body and anything he touches into a gold like substance that greatly enhances his strength. In his "gold" form, he's virtually indestructible. He recieved his powers in a freak accident at his uncle's lab in Jamaica. Solomon is probably the most well read, most informed, and wisest member of the Warriors Clan. He's a hip-hop poet with spiritual sensibilities. Some more superheroes that are my own creations. This is half of a team called the Incredible 8, the other half are boys, and these are the girls. The greenhaired is Lisa Lee aka Blossom, redhead is Kelly Green/Alana Burning Star, Christina Gold is the electric girl, and Paula Johnson is Myst who was formally known as Cloud Girl. I'll give some more history on them later. I've had these characters for a while, and had to rework them quite a bit over the years, because of other real comic book series that came out, such as Young Heroes in Love, and Noble Causes....and you'll see what I mean when I post the history and the boys of the Incredible 8..... Anyhow, I colored this in Paint, but again....after what Black did with my Luke Cage, expect to see this redone as well. One more tonight. Some more Young Buck characters. Shanequa is the "Queen Bee" of Woodland High, and she's got her sights set on All-Star Darius D. Hunter, who is more convinced that he is the best thing that happened to .....well, the world. Both of them are more in love with themselves than anything else, but there's an undeniable attraction between these two.
Let's peek in on their convo:

Shanequa: "So what's up with you Darius? I know you been checkin' me out while you on the field AND when you on the court."

Darius: "Won't deny it, but at the same time, you know you been checkin' back."

Shanequa: "Well, maybe. Maybe not. Maybe I was looking at....Jamarcus."

Darius: (Laughing)" Right. Jamarcus ain't got nothing on me baby."

Shanequa: "Oh he got something alright, but maybe you right....you are looking kinda fine Mr. Hunter"

Darius: "I know this. You know this. We both the finest things up in this camp, So what we going to do? You want to hook up or what?"

Shanequa: "Mmmmm, I don't know if you can handle all of Shanequa Latifah Charmaine Munroe. Cause me? I'm doing the damn thing."

Darius: "But see, the real question is, can you handle Darius "The Divine One" Hunter? All star Running Back AND Point Guard of the Basketball team."

Shanequa: "I can handle it all and more. But you have got to come correct with me, or don't come at all."

Darius: "Bet."

Shanequa: "Bet....better pick me up by 8 tonight."

Another villian. : Blitz aka Darron Chase. Former football star who got kicked out the league after testing positive for drug use. Began turning towards a life of crime, petty thefts, carjackings, etc. He got the attention of the Lion's Den (a superpowered criminal cartel) who gave him more power than he could imagine. He became one of their superagents and currently is operating with the Black Lion's Pride in Heritage City. He has the power of superspeed, and superstrength. He carries two deadly blades that make him very deadly.

Well, here you go....this is the Incredible 8! Well, at least from 1995, which is when I drew this pic! I created the I8 back when I was in elementary school(circa 1984)....so they've grown considerably(as I've grown). Right now, I'd say they are in their early twenties....but they've been "superheroing" since they were 10 yrs old. They were originally 2 separate superhero teams. "The Earth Power Kids" consisting of Fire Girl(now known as Burning Star), Ice Kid(Frostbite-for a long time, but is now: Ice Lord), Water Boy(Splashdown), and Cloud Girl(Myst). The other team, which was unamed when I made them was: Starburst, Sand Kid(Sandbox), Flower/Plant Girl(Blossom), and Solid. (One was East Coast , and the other West Coast). They eventually were teamed up when both teams were kidnapped by an alien power hunter who stole powers from various superheroes on various planets. The kids had to work together to stop him. After their space adventure, they teamed up to become The Incredible 8! Since that time, they've become world famous heroes and had many adventures. There was a period of time when they had grown apart, but now find themselves back together again to fight the good fight!

The Incredible 8 as powerful as they are, can't always be everywhere, and so, sometime in the 1990's, I created the I8 Reserve Squad, which are a collection of kids and heroes who the I8 mentor and have had the opportunity to work with. Sometimes the I8RS is called upon to take the place of a member who is injured, or just unavailable. Sometimes the whole team is needed for a job that the I8 can't handle due to other committments. THey are the first defense for the Earth when the I8 is out in space or in some other dimension. They also perform regular heroics on their own. But for the most part they are reserve members, and lead their own regular lives. Ya gotta love Paintbrush or Microsoft Paint. They are simple programs but they serve their purposes. I still use Paintbrush myself. (can't afford the fancy art computer programs yet)

This is a trade pic, I did of two characters named Tattera and Hoon, who belong to one of my friends on DA named Blinddragon. He'll be doing Skye and Flow for me.
I wanted to do a Spring like pic of his two characters. Tat is the guy with the striped hair. Hoon is the hottie. ;) ALthough some might think Tat is the hottie. And some more might think they are both hotties.....okay, I'm finished now. :p :cool:

This was a recent challenge involving one of my newer charcters who was created for me by one of my fifth graders. The characters name is Hothead. Well, a friend of mine on DA (deviant art), has a character named Skorch, and we'd thought it be a fun idea to draw our characters going up against each other since they have similar powers of fire. I don't think I've posted my Omega Seed characters. Well, now you get your chance to see them!
Team Omega is basically made up of people who you all may call "mutants" in another universe. In the Omegan world, there was a group of super people called The Circle who had powers and stopped an ancient evil. Thousands, upon thousands of years later, their descendents are inheriting their powers....the newest generation are calling themselves the Omega Seed.

Part of Team Omega's mission is to keep the HORDE away from some of the younger generation of Omegas. But that younger generation is proving they can handle their own. One of such is Katrina Myles. She's an A-Class Omegan telekinetic who can telekinetically manipulate light energy and use it as a weapon. All light is basically subject to her command. She can also create flying discs, shields, etc. as part of her normal tk, and she's just 17. She joined a group of kids who call themselves The Omega Seeds who have found themselves on the run from the Horde who basically have destroyed their lives trying to kill them. Before the Horde, Katrina was an average student who loved dance, and all of the arts. Katrina has an even temper, and knows how to stay calm in the most extreme of situations. She's a quiet evaluater, but a valuable ally. Her power levels are increasing almost daily.

Young Sean Pak was an angry young man, who had rage for several reasons. The death of his parents and family being killed by the Horde was a main one. And why was the Horde after young Sean? Because he has the omgean ability to tap into a source of energy called the Chaos Factor. It was only until he was rescued and found by Team Omega and theOmega Seed that he found the ability to begin to center and control this unpredictable power and as well as his anger and rage towards the world.....

Sasha McDaniels has got it going on. She's smart, she's sassy, she's cool, and she's blue. Blue is one of the Omegan Seeds who revels in her power to control a mysterious blue energy. The energy varies on different levels: the lowest flow gives off a calming chemical effect, the median range can stun and or paralyze a foe, and the highest concentration of the energy can blast through mountains. Blue lost her family due to an attack by the Horde. This makes her more connected to the members of her team, the Omega Seed. Even though, she's lost a lot, she remains fun loving and optimistic. She only likes to be called by her codename for the most part, and only those extremely close to her can call her Sasha.She loves partying and living life, and taking risks. Although, one of the psychatrists at the Omega Foundation feels that she''s masking her hurt and her pain with this wild lifestyle.......

Thermal is Eric Baron. When Baron was 12, his powers to control thermal energies mainfested by him melting his bed. His parents tried to hide his powers for years, keeping their own research tatics a secret. However, the evil organization known as the HORDE came after Eric when he was 16, Eric was able to protect his family with his powers, and some intervention from three other superpowered Omegas. He joined forces with these kids, and they became known as the Omega Seed. They are continually on the run from the Horde until they came in contact with a group called Team Omega who are acting as their legal guardians. Baron controls thermal energies, meaning he can extract heat and redirect it through his body. So, in essence he can freeze you or fry you,making him a very sought after Omegan by the Horde. He can generate intense heat or retract that heat into himself.
Personality: Eric is a calm, easy going guy, he likes to play guitar, and workout. He's probably the most level headed person on the Omega Seed, and the others look to him for guidance from time to time. Eric is still growing in his abilities, so time will tell.

Pretty cool. Have you considered using photoshop to ink your drawings? There are a ton of step-by-step tutorials out there that show you how to do it like the pros. You can add color the same way. Comic art looks a lot better when it's inked.

Thanks Joe. I've been recently working with Photoshop on many of my works on DA. I'm still learning it. Sometimes I use subtle photoshop like on the last entry which was mixed with colored pencils, and regular pen. I have used photoshop before to help with the inks. As far as the tutorials go, I have seen several good ones that I try to follow from time to time (when I get time) But for right now, it's more of trial and error, with a few good results. Thanks for the advice, it's well appreciated.

Some This is my next fun little project. Alternate Universes.Alternate universes are fun and twisted. So I decided to do ones with my characters from the Urban Warriors. I don't have full details as of yet, but basically, these first three are on the run from a villian-entity dubbed as the Reality Eater who was accidently released by Dr. Solomon King.
They are trying to gather Urban Warriors from different dimensions to combat this evil and if possible return their worlds back to their former state. Each of these Alternate Warriors have counterparts in other dimensions, some good, some bad, some in-between. So here are Mech, Sun King, and Lady Oz of Dimension 12. Mech is the counterpart of my Mech, except in her world, she totally transformed herself into a robotic weapon who can access any technology in the world, and use it. She's becoming less and less human. Sun King is the alternate version of my Urban Warrior Chill. Basically, in Dimension 12, Orion K. Jones became a living solar battery rather than the cool, ice man. They both have telepathic abilities and the teleporting ablities, but Sun King's is a lot stronger. As a matter of fact, he can break through dimensions, which makes him important to the story line. He has been in more battles, and is a lot less reserved than Chill is. He's more outspoken, can be ruthless when necessary and carries a heavy burden of leadership on his shoulders (He leads the Urban Warriors in D-12). Lady OZ is the counterpart to Ms. Ruby, a villian in the normal Urban Warriors world. In Dimension 12 however, she took the route of becoming a lab assistant to Solomon King (who in our world is Midas) and ended up helping to develop the emerald body armor that she can transform into. She's one of the most bold and noble members of the alternate warrior squad.

Chantel wasn't your average around the way girl, although she certainly could hold her own. Bright and intelligent, she went to Heritage University on a full scholarship. She was working as a research assistant as part of her college courses in the Science lab. While working on solar research, Chantel actually discovered a new way to harness light energies, and was eager to share with the head professor of the lab whom she had a crush on, and was carrying on an affair with. The professor took her research and claimed as his own without CHantel's knowledge, he subsequently ended his affair with her and tried to have her discredited. Feeling hurt and confused, Chantel vowed revenge, and worked feverishly on a machine that would give her powers to control solar energies. Her plan succeeded, but with a twist, the resulting experiment also gave her power over shadows, and the ability to create intense darkness as well as light. Chantel, in her rage, destroyed the lab, causing the Urban Warriors to come to stop her. She fought them, but was eventually defeated. The Warriors tried to help her, especially Hype, who believes that she is just misguided. While in prision, Chantel met some of the superhuman members of the Lion's Pride who made her an offer she couldn't refuse. She joins reluctantly in order to get revenge. She's conflicted within constantly as the energies that she absorbs messes with her mind. She often has dual personality conflicts, and has sought help.

From out of the lab of Dark Beast and Mr. Sinister comes yet another X-Men in the Mix. This time, the DNA of the Beast (but which one? ) and Rogue were combined to make "The Rogue Beast". And that he is. He's able to extend a field that allows him to sap and copy the powers of others within a l-mile radius. He also has some of the same "beast" like qualities as Henry McCoy. But is Dark Beast his donor, or is it the real McCoy?

A new Urban Warrior named Ivory Moon. She's from the future and she's fighting Red Fury, one of the Lionesses, who are villians in my series. The Lionesses have this high tech armor. They are one of the Lion's Den's most powerful weapons. Ivy is pretty powerful herself, she has the ability to channel an energy she calls the White Lighting. Playing around in PS, I finally learned how to get some glow effects the way I wanted them. This is my first attempt, and I know it's not perfect, but I like the way this turned out.

I had this picture in my collection for awhile. I was going to use it for a reference. I don't even remember where I got it from, but I decided to use it for two of my characters: Juice and Pyron. Pyron, is one of my fan-fic characters, that I'm thinking about placing in my Urban Warrior series. Juice, of course, is already a lead character in that series. I thought it would be cool to use these two energy beings in a pic together....seeing as I thought Pyron would be a good love interest for Juice.

Over the years, I concentrated on more team based heroes, but I still have some love for my solo characters. This was a sketch that I was playing around with recently, and decided to color it in PS-CS2.

Anyway, Ninja(Anthony Michael Jones) here was a son of a soldier who was stationed in Japan. After his father was killed in combat, he was raised by his father's martial arts master who taught him many forms of martial arts, especially ninjitsu. Anthony had a rival at the school named Noboru, both in combat and for the love of a woman, Michiko. When Michiko eventually choose Anthony over his rival, his rival plotted to kill Ninja. Michiko learning of the betrayal, jumped in front of the blade which killed her instead of Anthony. Noboru fled to the United States and became a crime boss named the Blue Dragon. Anthony had also moved to the US to move on with his life. He learned of Blue Dragon's criminal activities, and swore to stop him....thus was born Ninja Star.

Brief Bio:
Esper is a normal human who is one of the tops in her field of espionage. She started as amiltary specialist and then a detective with the NYPD. Earning many accolades for solvingunsolved and almost impossible to solve cases, she was soon asked to use her services for the FBI and the CIA. She was then approached by a top secret group called the Alpha Hunters who deal with paranormal and superhuman affairs to work with them as an agent. She refused at first, but ended up changing her mind once she saw the need for it. (It also helped that they tripled her pay that the government was offering). She's mastered many martial arts forms, weapons, computer skills, and espionage tatics making her an extremely valuable member of her agency, the Alpha Hunters.

Personality: At first glance, you'd think she's a no nonsense woman...and she is. Esper doesn't take any "you know what" from anyone. But at the same time, Esper is a deeply caring person. She got involved in law enforcement after seeing many deaths in her young life. She is a strong willed woman. Sometimes Esper tends to bury her pain through her work, and her sometimes sarcastic nature, but she's not cold hearted. In fact, after work, Esper loves to travel to exotic locations, and parties with the best of them. She has learned that life is too short to not live it....a lesson she's trying to teach her new boyfriend, Kyle Truhart aka Mayhem.

The History of Defense System
by Tre Styles
Back when I was a little youngin, I created my fantasy superhero team. This was my very very first superhero team....before Team Omega, before Urban Warriors, before the Incredible 8 and all my other bazillion characters. This was my flagship team. I've neglected them for a while now.....so I decided to put up this sketch I did of them a few weeks back. I will also color it too. Anyway, the team is named Defense System. This team is my "JLA" or "Avengers" basically (hey...every good superhero universe needs one). They are a United States government sponsored team which was founded by a man named Dr. Ronald Hall who was the originator of extra-dimensional travel. The team has had at one point over 20 members. There is a rich history involved with the group.
The original team included: Tornado Boy/Man, Force Bubble Boy(Shield), Rockslide (yeah, I had the name first..lol), Zoom, Heatwave, Princess Byrd, Spud, Suction Cup Man, Stork, Lady Falcon, Robot Man, Stretch-O, Polar Star, Minnesota Jones, Ram,and Tiny Towers.
After fighting countless bad guys, stopping numerous alien invasions, and other superhero endeavors...the team was devestated when several of their own were killed after a victory over one of their greatest enemies was seemingly won. Also personal problems began to separate the team even further. Betrayals, mistrust, and other things led to the disbandoning of the team. They disbanded(some of the members formed a smaller team called Security System) and the world mourned the loss of one of the greatest teams ever....as new crisis emerged, younger heroes began to step up, but found themselves overwhelmed. The remaining members of Defense System knew that they needed to make a comeback, so after 5 years of being gone...they returned on the scene, smaller in numbers, but with a spirit renewed and energized by the new generation of heroes. Some of the heroes helped to open Defense System Academy which is a training ground for younger heroes who wish to learn more about their powers and being a hero.
The current team includes:

Tornado- Theodore Hamilton. The leader of the team, who has the power to control vast winds and speed. He literally can turn into or control tornados. He was the original leader of the team for many years, until he decided to disband them because of the various problems. He comes back as somewhat jaded, but is consumed with the call to protect his planet.

Princess Byrd- Co-leader and original founder of the team, Princess Sayani is from a planet where humans and avians are almost identical. She can fly with her natural wings that grow from underneath her arms. She also has a belt that has a paralyzing force field. She has a small amount of superstrength as well. Sayani is a consumate leader, and of course, royalty.

Heatwave-Bradley Hunter was one of the first astronauts to test a new rocket designed to collect solar samples from the sun. In a freak accident in the lab aboard the ship, the chemicals mixed with the heat from the sun caused Bradley's biochemistry to become infused with solar power. Bradley learned that he could cause extreme heat and solar flares. He became the third member of Defense System. Brad sometimes has problems with committment with women, which has gotten him in his fair share of trouble.

Thunderjet-T.J. "Rock" Henderson is a superstar. He was once a great wide reciever in the NFL, who then became an action star hero starring in many of the top summer blockbusters. During a stunt performance (TJ always did his own stunts), his legs were damaged. Fearing he would never work again, TJ looked for all the top doctors and surgeons in the world. None it seemed could help him, until he found Dr. Hall, the world's top in human genetics. Dr. Hall explained that he could help TJ, but the experiment could have unexpected results. And it did. TJ found himself not only being able to walk, but being able to fly at incredible super sonic speeds as well as being virtually invulerable. Of course, using this to his advantage, he became the main attraction. He was approached by the Defense System team to use his powers for good.

Tiny Towers- Mitchell "Tiny" Towers was a lab assistant with Dr. Hall who helped him to discover extra dimensional travel. In travelling to another dimension, his body chemistry was changed. He found himself being able to shrink and to grow at various sizes. He didn't think about using his powers for heroing until his mother and fiancee were killed by a crazed psychopath.

Stretch-0- Steven Michael Satchel was another lab assistant who travelled with Towers into the extra dimension, and who's body was also changed. Satchel found himself being able to flex and to bend his body into various shapes and sizes. He was now a real "rubber" man. He decided to help others with his newfound abilites after being convinced by his friend "Tiny".

I've been going back to my childhood/teen years of drawing to revamp some of my creations...in particular my villians, who I don't draw often enough. So, here are some of my old villians I decided to revamp/tweak their looks.... Backfire, Destruction, and Death Dog. They are some of the enforcers, assassians and thugs of the criminal cartel..The Ring of Nine.

Backfire(brown and yellow-orange)-has a unique power dervied from a mystic source. He has the ability to cause things to "go wrong".

Destruction (in blue)-likes to break stuff (super-strong kinetic absorber)

Death Dog(in red and black)-likes to kill stuff. (psycho assassin)

Louis Dane Summers from my fan-fic universe, "Clan X". Louis is the son of Alex "Havok" Summers and Lorna Dane-Summers. In my version, Alex and Lorna get married, and then later divorced. This causes Louis to become sort of a rebel, and he actually forms a "gang" called "The Hellions" which is not really a violent street gang, although they are known to cause mischief from time to time in Westchester County and other parts of NYC. Most of them are band members from a group that he's a part of called "The Phoenix Eyes". Louis has the power to access cosmic electromagnetic energy from another dimension and create portal zones of transportation that can take him anywhere he wants to go. He can also redirect the energy from the portals to blow stuff up, just like dad.

BTW, I did this picture a while ago. I just added color to it tonight. The B/W version is in this gallery somewhere, or on DA...I can't remember which. It might be in both. You can also find it on a thread in the X-Forums called "What If They Had A Kid: The Drawing Thread"...or something like that. I'm off to find it now, so I can put this on there as well. Why am I saying all this? No reason...lol. ;)

Abilities: As a Quasian, Jaron has very durable, almost impenetrable skin and strength that increases with adrenaline. In addition to this, Jaron has an extraordinary healing ability when injured. He is trained in several Quasian and other forms of intergalactic warfare and marital arts. He also is very agile, and can move at incredible speeds. Sometimes his abilities vary from planet to planet.

Brief History: Rumored to be a son of a nobleman, that he never knew, Jaron grew up on a farm in Tanar, a province east of Quartan, capital city of the planet Quaszar. Never told of his heritage for various reasons, Jaron grew up with the belief that his true father had been killed in a war. Jaron learned the truth about his parentage upon being assigned to the royal army when he came of age. Learning that some officials of Quazar were in league with the world conquering, slave dictators, the Wild Lords, Jaron set out to right these wrongs. Enraged that his fellow Quasians were being enslaved, he formed a secret (at first) underground resistance to free those in bondage in the slave lands. He and his family were eventually captured, made slaves, and sent via slave ship to Colony 25, which was the “breaking grounds” for all servants of the Wild Lords.
Jaron had actually allowed himself to be captured, so that he could began the resistance force at the heart of the slave capital, free his family and others being held in bondage, and to gather others for his “Resistance Force for Free Worlds” a.k.a. the Free World Freedom League. His exploits and adventures began to be spread across the 35 worlds causing him and his freedom fighters to become living legends, and a source of constant frustration, irritation, and outrage for the Wild Lords.

Personality: Passionate about his cause, Jaron is a natural leader. He is conflicted upon learning his true heritage, but this makes him even more determined to free every world under the dominion of the Wild Lords. He has a very charismatic personality, and many are drawn to him and his leadership style. He has a huge vision for better worlds, but sometimes can be headstrong and so focused on the bigger picture, he forgets some of the smaller details. Still, he is a very diligent leader who cares for his people immensely, and would do anything for them.
